What about its optics? Noone says anything about that.. :S Phone can have 20MPX but it would be worthless without a good optics (such as. Carl Zeiss which Nokia uses). It is expexted that this one will also have some good because that is Sony, right..?

The Idou (currently a working title, pronounced "I do") is a metal cased smartphone, announced by Sony Ericsson at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on the 15th of February 2009. It has been labelled as the company's iPhone killer, and is scheduled to be released sometime in the second half of the year. [1]

The focus of the phone is the high quality playback of music and video, as well as photography. It will be the first phone in the world to have a 12-megapixel camera [2]. This is located on the back of the phone, behind a slider and features a Xenon flash. On the side of the phone, there is a shutter button, and a button which allows you to switch between still and video modes. Next to this is a rocker switch for zooming in and out. Also on this side is a button for playback of photos or video. The other side of the phone has a sliding lock button and a covered slot for a MicroSD card.

The front of the camera is dominated by a 3.5-inch, 16:9 ratio 640x480 resistive touchscreen.[3] There is also a front facing camera for video calling. At the bottom of the touchscreen are three small buttons: green (left), white (centre), and red (right).

In terms of software, Idou uses an operating system based on the Symbian/S60 platforms.[4] It will use the PlayNow service, Sony Ericsson's streaming mobile music platform, and is part of the company's new Entertainment Unlimited service.[5] In terms of connectivity, it is Wi-Fi-enabled and has a GPS chip for navigation and location-based services.

Well it's not abt the megapixels, its the lens. such a small lens won't give u as good a photo as an SLR even if it was 50 megapixels

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I think he means full 1080P.. honestly, If your going to get to such high res videos, you might as while get a camcorder and get some decent quality. Out of that size sensor, 720P is where that should max out.
