You can't do self updates like how Siemens phones can...
You'll have to go to an authorized sony ericsson dealer and show them your warrenty card and ask for an update. The reason why I say authorized se dealer is so that you'll get the latest.. some smaller shops might be able to update, but not always to the latest version.

I have taken 10 large pictures on my phone and have space for another 20++. I have about 441KB left. You should try upgrading your software to the R3 whatever thingy.

this is a great phone! the only thing that really agrivated me was the camera. it is only good in the daytime but at night all of the pictures that i took are blurs. and the contrast on the camera is soooo dark even in the daytime. also there is hardly any memory (for pictures) that i had to delete some pics that came with the phone. it probably can only hold 15-20 pics. unlike the sharp gx20 which my brother has, it can hold around 30-35. so i would rate this phone a 4 out of 5 with the camera quality/memory being the only set-back

Your writting style? I think it's really funny how you feel the need to explain yourself to strangers who don't really care.....

Don't worry Big Panda.
I used to post lots of posts at GSM Arena.. LoL.. Many would remember me as the SE defender :P
Anyway, I'm sure all of you who had actually see my posts would know how I type..
By the way, I just came here to announce something great..
Just upgraded my T610's software to the latest (as of now.. heh..) which is R3 something...
Few differences are that when you play sounds in the 'My Sounds' menu, it doesn't start soft anymore and by pressing the + and - side buttons, you control the volume. Also, when you play a recorded AMR file, it plays via the speaker. So you could change a MP3 to AMR (ratio of 1:0.1) as in a 3mb MP3 would be a 300kb AMR at 112 quality and play it via the speaker. Interesting, but not fantastic as the speaker can't take some frequencies and would vibrate.
Also, another improvements would be the fact that the memory issue of caching and all for the pictures is gone. Now a 20kb picture will REALLY be a 20kb file instead of the high 60 over kb =).
And as for Unkown who claims that I'm big panda?..
Why don't YOU work for Times since you claim to know all THESE things? Maybe you can try pointing fingers at your neighbour and telling the world he's Osama?
It's obvious I'm not him. For starters, his writting style differs from mine. Secondly, I never did once used numbering as point form but instead using dashes...

It is SO COOL!!! I've got one myself... Just LOVE it! I just wish that it didn't get so dusty so easy... And that the camera had a zoom function. But that doesn't mean very much. I'm happy with, what it can do... And that is a lot.
