Well, some people just have to think why is there a camera on this phone? The reason there's a camera is so that you can use it for Picture Phonebook or MMS. You do not take pictures with a camera phone and print it out. It is just plain stupid. Even if you're using a 3650, 640x480 is still a shitty res. At least 1280x1024 would be okay, but that also still isn't too good for printing. And also, to add another thing. To get a clear picture without flash, one would need a large super bright lense like what Olympus has on their digital camera. Even with a normal camera, everyone knows that no flash = bad picture unless you have a good lense. So if you are all comparing camera, don't bother. It's stupid to compare camera on phones.

I might as well point out my ental arithmatic blunder before some one gets pissed off. The camera resolution of 288*352 or whatever will get 0.1MP where as 1280*1024 will get 1.3MP

Guys (for it could only be guys),
Calm down. Its a phone. I don't like Nokias as they are popular because of being popular. My reason for getting a T610 would be to stand out from other people who all have the same phone. The camera may be one of the worst( unfortunately not eve 0.1MP as that would be 1280x1024 or there about), really its a nvelty item. You don't come home after a holiday, upload your pictures, print them off and get all sentimental over them years later (or at least i hope you don't). The best feature that sony ericcsons have is text messaging. I had/have a J5 and at the time, the T9 on it was generations bayond nokias and everything else where they just had the word underlined, and you had to cycle through alternatives blindly. My friends T68i had great T9 and I am expecting nothing but good things from the T610.
With nokia flooding markets and people not fully understanding the aternatives, having a different phone is even more striking.
I had a mate who had a Siemens S55 and the menu/screen/games and most other things anyone can think of were either baffling or low quality.
As long as there are companies making good quality under dogs which off feasable alternatives, then the world will be happy and the birds will sing etc...

PS.Sorry. I don't like PSs
PPS. THe analogy of a brick is a bit off as there isn't a straight line on the T610, and it looks elegant rather than brick-ish (bit subjective but hey)
PPPS. It might be picky of me (and probably hypocritical) but please check to see that your messages make sense. The telecoms expert's message read -
"You[r] brain is also low quality, just like you[r] brain"

I just upgraded and got a t610 because i thought it was a bargain as it was free so i went for it ignoring my golden rule of only use nokias because ive tried them all and nokias have always comes up tops for me in the end, anyway needles to say I wish I hadn't the camera resolution is too small at 0.1 mega pixels compared to my brothers 3650 which has 0.3 and this makes all the difference especialy when you get the photo on a PC you can see how crap the photos realy are the display on the phone is exellent exept the phone goes completely black when in standby so you cant see the time,if youve got signal, battery strengh or if the phones on! it does however stay partlit if you miss a call until you press something great for flatening you battery Ive taken mine back and exchanged it for another one because it wont go on the internet I think the signal is to week needless to say the exchanged one is the same and the shop tried everything with the settings and with the help of the network and they still couldnt get it to go not even the wap put my sim back in my trusty old nokia and hey presto WAP! ive managed to send one photo in 3 days! by the way you still get charged the same price for each picture massage even though the file size is 3 times smaller and it is small when sent to a 3650! 0.3 is the least you can get away with, polyphonic ring tones on this phone are exellent but thats not enough. I took a photo of the bloke standing next to me at the bar by accident all i was doing was trying to turn the volume up!

Can someone make a comment on the quality of the images of this phone. Are images crisp and detailed or pixelated. With a Nokia 7250 i found that there are strands of lines in between the images.

Yes, I saw it IRL (looks bit better then, i have to admit.) The GF part was in there cuz she likes the SL55 a lot. Bye the way.. if you'd had the guts to fill in your email address, i'd have sent you the proof (both on the P800 and GF issue).

Looks aren't that cool.. bit like a brick. The specs aren't that bad though except the camera ones.. Lot worse than P800 (which I just sold for a lot of cash since it's still worth something). Should be an OK fone but for the time being (meaning 'till the P810 or SX1 arrives), but I think I'll try the SL55 for those few months. Just like the retro-looks of it. When I'm done playing with it I'll pass it on to my GF...
