what's the diference between Vivaz & Vivaz pro? which one do you think is better? I'm afraid that Vivaz pro doesn't have nice colors as Vivaz...

Druglord, 16 Sep 2010Where can I download free games and applications for my Son... moreyou can get a couple of free bits from the sony PlayNow site on your phone but you can get some free games & things on www.umnet.com (there are probably others though) I can't say if any of it on there is good as I have not tried it yet (I was sent the link from a mate) but they do have free vivaz stff on there.

Thanks for your reply, I have just tried Sony headset and thats fine (headphones and mic), I also tried apple headphones and they are fine, thought I would test the Sennheiser mm50 again and it turns out that the mic works fine just the headphones that don't seem to work with the vivaz :(
Both mic and headphones work in the HTC HD2 and the headphones are fine in the PSP.
I am going to keep looking for an answer before I give in and pass these over to my girlfriend.

Bacon before one month and I have tryed headphones of one iPod(3.5 audio jack)just like my Vivaz and they worked perfectly,..see if your problen is in your phone or try other headsets,maybe they are a special one and they may work only on theyre competent device

hi my friend,first about that sybmian sis signer its a file that you must download it and not an online signer...
And now to get your cert. and key..follow me step by step ok.
First go here http://redpepper007.ucoz.com/ and do your registration,
than go in your left side and push certificate request,then AddReply,
then there you write exactly like that:
MY PHONE IS SONY ERICSSON VIVAZ U5(or U5i depends from your device which is,
MY IMEI IS ..............(you must write your imei)and then write:GIVE ME THE CERTIFICATE AND KEY
and after that just push Post opinion.
after 3 or 4 hours or more but I don think that will take so long,they will give you your cert. and key right there when you have make it your post,...after they shows your cert and key you type on them and save it......
then you need that sis signer that I told you
let me know if something goes wrong..bye my friend

my friend almost all apps for s60v5 works only for s60v5,but there are some apps they works very good in s60v5 or s60v3 even that the file is the same....as I told you for that file lock called Media Safe was for s60v3 but I was amazed because it worked on my Vivaz

I don't really have SE Vivaz but I'm a Symbian S60 V5 lover which makes us even here... After reading lots of comments here, I thought I better give you a list of applications (Must have applications) in your Vivaz (Symbian S60V5)
1) Google Maps (Just like Google earth on your PC)
2) Y-Browser (File manager software, but way better than the default one... You can go in to hidden system files too)
3) 360ting player (Good Music player)
4) Resco Photo Viewer (Photo browsing, Photo editing software like ACDSee in your PC)
5) Photo browser (Photo browsing software with a very cool 3D like interface)
6) Quickoffice (Can Open, edit Office documents like Word, excel & power point.. Even Microsoft Office 2007 files can be edited using the new version of quickoffice mobile.)
7) Adobe PDF reader
8) Paint pad (Picture drawing tool)
9) Opera mobile (Very good web browser)
10) Youtube (You can view even high quality youtube videos directly from this software without any problem.)

You can download almost all the above applications from www.dotsis.com (Of course cracked versions...)
I'm actually using Nokia 5530 Xpress Music which has the same OS as this... and I have all the above applications installed in my beauty... So I can say with confidence... Symbian ROCKS...!

Can anyone help...
My girlfriend got me some Sennheiser MM50 headphones, the pack said they are iPhone compatable but I own the Vivaz... I tried them as they have the same jack but they fail, I tested them with my PSP and they work great with that, I then tried it in my girfriends HTC HD2 and they worked 100%.
My vivaz comes up with the option to select headset or TV out when I plug the headset in but after selecting the headset option I get nothing through the headphones for music or calls. (TV out just gives me white noise with teh music as background)
Are they non compatable or have I missed something obvious? if I can't get the things working I will just use them with the PSP or give them back to my girlfriend as they seem to work fine for her...

Update: Downloaded, and installed the latest software (22/07/10) and problem has been solved. Music player option has been restored, phone's running alot smoother and a few new apps have been added.

did you try to restart your phone?
if not please do it, then check out if it's ok.
if not then switch your phone off, remove the memory card then switch it on without and with memory card.
if those doesn't seem to solve the problem wait for atleast 2 days while monitoring your phone.
try to restart it again if nothing happened go get an mc reader and format your mc..
your last choice is to go to the se care center..

i just want to ask about his batt performanc... moredear Apis,
battery performance is good. it can run up to 2-3 days with regular use.. not abUSE.
remember brother that it's a touch screen phone. with this size of screen what can you expect. :)
yes its the same os.
camera and video is superb. sound quality is good though not the best. but it has a 3.5 audio cable port, so you can always makeuse of your favorite headset

threaded view is an application which shows the messages (text) in threaded view haha!
just like in i-phone, samsung and yahoo messenger. you can see his and your message and browse over it easily

yes Vivaz supports USB charging
im just not sure if it plays the whole song. in my other SE phone it doesnt. just havent tried it in vivaz yet.

yes that's so possible.
only if you install a 3rd party application.
there are different apps that has the ability to hide your files (for example private photos, videos such as porn). :D.
One of which is the 'file lock' as our friend Fatos have mentioned.
(be sure to read the comments before you install the appslication, for you to be sure that it is safe to install)
i believe our friend Fatos has already provided the link where to get Media Safe application.
to be honest, i havent tried an android phone so i cant be particular in answering this question. but as far as i know yes android has more application already preloaded to the phone. but with symbian we can also achieve such apps thru 3rd party apps
yes, there are several apps that need a huge amt of RAm to run smoothly, same thing when running several applications in the back ground. this slows your phone's performance. it causes lags as well or worst when you dont have enough Ram to run an application it sometimes restarts.
one good solution is to monitor your ram usage. close an application when not in use and dont forget to restart your phone at least once in two weeks.
vivaz is a very good phone. that's one good reason to take good care of it.
