The Vivaz is a smartphone, you can get all these programs that are missing from the provided Symbian OS package. That's what I did, all the games and application I like, I've installed it myself, because Symbian have a lot of programs available in the internet for free or for a small fee. You can try www.mobile9.com as a starting point for all the software you need and more. I too, missed the Code Memo, but I found another one that I am using now, which is much, much better. That's why they are called smartphone, it's not a simple phone with few Java programs anymore, they just added the Java functionality, so they can still run the programs from previous models. You can try www.getjar.com, if you want more Java application for your phone...

the heat produced is normal in all phones and specially if you use the Wi-Fi connected to internet radio at the same time
the heat is produced by the high current drawn from the battery when using many functions such as Wi fi , phone speakers on hi volume , etc

i jus purchasged vivaz a few days back, and realised that after using the phone for a short while, i can feel the heat from the back of the phone. any vivaz user facing this also? is it common?

I have been on this forum in the past and I have deceided to come back to convey some of my comments
As a big Sony Ericsson fan and I have bought most of their mobile phones to be part of my massive Sony Ericsson collection .
As for VIVAZ is concerned , I have some comments that made me to be annoyed
1- the phone is using NOKIA Symbian platform and most of the companies are making their own platforms , this made SATIO to look like a NOKIA phone
2- 2 years ago Sony Ericsson had a Sofware company called UIQ and they have made nice phones back then , and that time UIQ used the Symbian to develop their programs , now the NOKIA S60 lacks some of the feature that I have used extensively such as accepting calls , either from the contact list , or from my customised list and Groups , sadly this is not in S60 by Nokia .
3- as in JAVA phones and in UIQ symbian phones , you can detect the % of the power left and this is abscent in This S60 platform
4- when connecting to WI FI Java phones WI FI Indicator turn into in Green colour but this is not implemented in S60 platform .
5- and as a general comment , that sony ericsson have removed completely the CODE MEMO from all new phones -- and thats sad
as you can see that Sony ericsson has shifted away from some basic features that we used to have in their phones and that I used to love and use
As sony ericsson it should have kept some of its sotware characteristics that we used to distiguish from the rest and this made me to be in dilema on what is the next ommissions and changes that we might see.

Guys can anyone tell me what is the code to get the model no? Like in nokia we press *#0000# and the model number comes on the screen so likewise what is the code for Sony ericsson.
P.S I desperately need the code

=(, 13 May 2010i got a data plan and how to i use the data plan to connect... moreIn settings/connections make sure wi-fi scanning is set to off. Also go to Internet/Options/Settings/General. Make sure access point is set to Always ask. Hope it helps :-))

if you want to change your phone for a better one i suggest you to go for SE X10 or HTC Desire
both of them has a modern OS(android)and superfast cpu and ram and excellent UI with excellent build quality
dont get me wrong vivaz is a good phone too but cant be better than iphone 3gs because of its OS

Anonymous, 11 May 2010anyone else havin problems with internet connection or is i... moreI would send yours back may have a fault. I got mine 3 weeks ago and its been such a breath of fresh air since using the highly stressful N97.
Vivaz stunning phone, very fast, Apps work fine and playnow am able to download easy. Net is very fast. I only have 1 thing against it, typing messages is a little awkward and you can easily mispell words (but im just used to the N97 keyboard). If I was entirely honest I would wait for the Pro as you get the keyboard, but then you lose the 8mp to 5mp,having said that I have no regrets buying this one
