I bought a W200i in spain last month . I have run the update service and it always tells me that there are no new updates. But I have the same problem of the song stopping in between and a high pitched noise starts. I have to switch tracks to stop the same.
I had written to sony UK they said that it is very unfortunate that this problem is coming and asked me to send the mobile phone to them for repair under warranty.
Has anyone tried the solution to come out of this problem.
A detailed mail solving this problem will be appreciated.
Note: My phone is locked to Orange SIM in spain

The update for this phone should be installed with the Update Service on the computer via USB cable. Just google.com it and download the Update Service. From there the instructions are given, though I recommend to non-computer geeks to install with caution... If you don't mind installing via WAP, which is alot more expensive, that would be the safer method...
So far, this phone (with the new firmware) can support 2GB M2 cards... I recently bought a 1GB thinking that was the best...
UBC screen is very similar to CSTN in terms of technology and quality... I believe that it is possible to upgrade the existing UBC screen with a TFT LCD screen from the K510, which has a better quality and more colours than the UBC... Not sure if 100% compatible though...
If you are using a 2GB M2 card with this phone, please tell me~ Plus, if any W200 user experiences any bugs with the new firmware, please tell me also~

Hey guys wat are the color display of this phone as its written UBC is it like a TFT display or its worse than the CSTN let me know pls, and tell me about wat quality of bass in it is it a megabass or not and about the performance in all fields.

I have just installed the new firmware... Congratulations SE~ You are listening to your customers~ The camera problem seems to have been fixed - the driver version used to be a 2.6. Now it is a 4.0, and I have (so far) not seen a bug with the camera~ Plus, the WALKMAN seems to have been stabilised, with no random high-pitched sounds to report (so far).
Still some minor bugs that can be fixed though...
1. There is still an annoying hiss while playing quiter music... Becomes unbearable sometimes
2. When using Voice Command with the handsfree kit, when you say a name out loud and the phone doesn't recognise it, a error tone is heard. But sometimes that is replaced with a very loud and morphed tone... I found this very frightening and sudden while I was trying to call someone while driving (with the handsfree)...
3. Sometimes when the phone is starting up, the start-up tone is sometimes played in a high-pitched, morphed manner... Again very sudden...
The above problems seem to be all sound driver related, which is quite easy to fix with non-Sony Ericsson firmware (but these void your warranty).. I hope SE fixes these bugs with more future updates. But so far, good work SE for beginning the repair process~

Nice phone but not enough to stay in hands of Boys very small - buttons are the same
Sound quality is the same as all the W - models.
Something seems to be lacking in it yes it is BLUETOOTH - CAMERA(better one) - Nice Display.
Usable for Budget based users who loves to have and MOBILE CO IPOD which can Snap Pictures.

Works amazingly easy on linux (no driver needed). Just put phone in file transfer mode and it will act as a USB memory!!! I love this phone ! :D

I'm not a onwer of the phone, but 2 firends of mine has it.
1 - the camera is not so bad for an vga... as i know, its iterpolated to 1.3, but not expect too much from this, but still useable.
2-more or less... in higher levels, the sound is a bit distorted, read in the max volume
3-very good =D
4- i haven't tested yet, sorry ^^"
5-the color is good, i'ts yubc, so it's no so good in sunlight, and total darkness, but not too much difference from an tft in my opinion
6 - dunno ^^"
7 - well, i've tested some videos, and it's a bit slow... but it depends on the type of conversion you use

I am unable to view a movie in fullscreen. No such option comes up. Doesn't this phone have the facility? Or do I need to do a software update?

I got this phone a week back...its aWsome...bUt i have an issue..i have 1GB M2 the sOngs click and pop all the time like u play a bad cd on a cd player...the sOngs are in good cOndition, the transferr takes hours tru USB cable....PLZ HELP.....
