You will have to fork out a bit of money to get decent sound from earphones. I am a audiophile myself, and have always rejected music devices that don't have customizable equalisers. You should be looking at earphones which have 13.5mm and larger drivers - they should give you enough bass. I know Sony sells some earphones to that spec (though they are not Sony Ericsson branded, meaning they are quite long in length). You can also get BOSE ones, but they are considerably expensive. In my case, my sony video walkman came with the noise-cancelling 13.5mm unit driver in-earphones. Although they work on only the video walkman, the sound quality is the BEST that I have heard on a music device (personally, better than BOSE)

Try studying for a PhD mate... You'll get the idea.

srk, 06 Jul 2009hy 5ushi if u chk out SE websit,u cant find w200 in da list... moreI remember back in late 2007, Sony Ericsson's old global phone and accessory portfolio site said that W200i supported the HPM-82, which is why I bought it (if I knew it wasn't compatible, I wouldn't have bought it). I just checked out their new global site and it seems that the HPM-82 isn't even there anymore.

Having gotten used to high-end noise-cancelling in-earphones, I find that the HPM-82 in-earphones are quite uncomfortable and sound really crap for me now (when compared to a few years back). That is why I use HPM-62 earphones, since I find those actually have slightly better sound quality (from my personal opinion). That, plus I commute on the bus to and from work and university, and it is alot safer knowing and hearing things around you instead of hearing nothing but music (especially when you are out and about at 9pm at night).

Obviously, HPM-82 and its remote is a better choice. I have one myself, and use it with the HPM-62 (stock) earphones. My W200 is my primary MP3 player these days. Personally, I also have a Sony Video walkman with noise cancelling which I prefer sound-wise, but then, using the W200 means I don't have to lug around two devices in my pocket.

From memory, the instructions state that the WALKMAN app in the W200 can only play mp3, AAC, and audio only from video MP4. The phone itself can play amr as well as the formats above.

Simply saying, you CANNOT play wma files with the W200. You will have to convert them to mp3 to get them playing.

I would LOVE to see this working(!)
From what I see, registering to that site and using apps from it will cause some problems with your PC, spamming to your email, and your W200i.

If anyone is brave enough to try and use the app, please, by all means, try the app and upload a screenshot onto photobucket and show me - I will then genuinely believe that W200i is capable of bluetooth.

The W200i from what I know DOES NOT HAVE HARDWARE FOR BLUETOOTH, meaning it is NOT able to have a bluetooth even if it has an app (impossible as it sounds) for 'enabling' bluetooth.

It would have been foolish for Sony Ericsson to add a bluetooth module to its W200 production line and not give it the feature - think of the money it would have lost adding the modules and not charging for it. The links below, therefore, sound iffy.

I strongly doubt that there are such things as 'bluetooth enablers' for the W200, and if there is (or are), all it will do is mess up your EROM on your phone and stuff it up beyond repair.
