I own one for more than 2 years and I'm very satisfied with it. Bluetooth is surely a "must have" nowadays - but it wasn't 2 or 3 years ago (for gods sake... it's an entry level walkman phone!).
It's an excellent phone for the price I payed for it.

So your phone got corrupted after a sync with the PC? Well, the possibilities are:
      1. You disconnected your phone before the sync was finished
      2. Your computer became unstable during the sync (causing a freeze etc)
      3. Power cut...?

Trying using the computer Sony Ericsson Update service and try reinstalling your firmware. If your phone isn't working as it is (eg, laggy, not starting and the rest), get it reflashed from a tech.

I just bought this phone. It will be here in a few more days. I am so excited! I came here to read opinions about this phone, but I cannot understand most of the post. The funny thing is that I am an avid text messenger and though I recognize most of the abbreviations they don't seem to make sense when put into the context of the sentences. I wonder if it would be a more effective form of communication if everyone would only use text lingo when texting?

It is a decent phone. I had mine for just over 2 years, but no problems with anything to report. I am quite keen on switching over to Aino about after a month after its release though. Just want something that will do well in all fronts (media managment, camera, and phone). Just would like full touch support...

Anyone experiencing problems with the network signal strength?
Mine does go down till the color of the network icon at he top changes to orange and would come back to normal within some seconds...

Am not sure it's from my Mobile Company because other people on other type of sony ericsson phones are not experiencing such problems. They have full network strength.

I might add that HPM-82 compatibility will depend on the firmware you are using. For example, my W200 was an imported phone - it wasn't available at retail stores here in New Zealand when I got it (came out about a year later). As a result, my W200 doesn't have software vodafone branding. From what I have seen from friends who have the vodafone versions of W200, they don't seem to support HPM-82, which leads me to believe that different firmware may or may not support the use of HPM-82.

I don't use many java apps. I downloaded some from the SE site (eg world clock, which the W200 seems to lack by default). Downloading apps from random sites can brick your phone, so take caution.

You will have to fork out a bit of money to get decent sound from earphones. I am a audiophile myself, and have always rejected music devices that don't have customizable equalisers. You should be looking at earphones which have 13.5mm and larger drivers - they should give you enough bass. I know Sony sells some earphones to that spec (though they are not Sony Ericsson branded, meaning they are quite long in length). You can also get BOSE ones, but they are considerably expensive. In my case, my sony video walkman came with the noise-cancelling 13.5mm unit driver in-earphones. Although they work on only the video walkman, the sound quality is the BEST that I have heard on a music device (personally, better than BOSE)

Try studying for a PhD mate... You'll get the idea.

srk, 06 Jul 2009hy 5ushi if u chk out SE websit,u cant find w200 in da list... moreI remember back in late 2007, Sony Ericsson's old global phone and accessory portfolio site said that W200i supported the HPM-82, which is why I bought it (if I knew it wasn't compatible, I wouldn't have bought it). I just checked out their new global site and it seems that the HPM-82 isn't even there anymore.

Having gotten used to high-end noise-cancelling in-earphones, I find that the HPM-82 in-earphones are quite uncomfortable and sound really crap for me now (when compared to a few years back). That is why I use HPM-62 earphones, since I find those actually have slightly better sound quality (from my personal opinion). That, plus I commute on the bus to and from work and university, and it is alot safer knowing and hearing things around you instead of hearing nothing but music (especially when you are out and about at 9pm at night).
