Battery life will be poor for the first few days of your phone's life (provided your phone is new). It will need to go through a activation charging (as soon as you buy it, charge it up for about 10 hours - continue charging even if it says fully charged).
THis will need to be done about 3 or 4 times, and the battery life will eventually become better.

Mess, 16 Oct 2008Is this a smart phone??? Please anyone....Yes,is the smart phone,use the disc2 software to download more songs for low memory compression on 1 or 2 MB.
battery is super performance,walkman is wonderful.
Main Drawback is Memory card cost s very high.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970im not angry..Lols..ei this phone aint perfect it has flaws..as long as i can listen to my w200i walkman phone..and that playback failed doesn't make any serious problems..its ok for me..and whats with that mp3 m4 itunes mumbo jumbo thing?..ur just making a simple problem to complex..just restart the phone and your good to go be happy don't make simple things complicated..no offense huh..

I've not had a recurrance of the "Playback failed" message since re-ripping all my CDs to 192kbps MP3 using WMP v11. I had it running continously for 3hrs last night and 4hrs this morning. Using Sandisk 4gb M2 card.
Normally the error would appear in less than 2 hours when playing back 128kbps m4a files prevoiusly.
Looks like problems solved by using mp3 instead of m4a. Bye bye iTunes and m4a....

Bill, 12 Oct 2008I re-ripped many of my CDs last night. Played the MP3s for... moreUsing a 4GB Sony M2 card. Depending on the sampling rate of your music files (and what format they are), the number of times (if you get them at all, that is) you get the playback failed message is going to vary.
All my songs are at 128kbs, at a sampling rate of 441000HZ. A rate of 48000 or higher will cause more errors.

this phone is marvellous
i have used nokia 6610 and nokia 7710 and nokia 3110 but this set w200i is the best set
but there is only one problem in it. the problem is the joystick
the joystick will not work after 2-3 months if u use it regularly
