David, there are places where you can buy the actual faceplates manufactured by Sony online, like http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-w300i-c-28_171.html
I'd advise getting the originals, because knockoffs are genrally pretty bad and can chip off easily.
Check at mall kiosks and stuff too, and they'll even switch them out for you (though I've found it's not too difficult, just make sure to avoid dust and gunk while you're doing it).

lastly i really didnt get wat u mean by "rec" is it recording or recieving a call , lemme knw if ya wanna ask sumthin else here's my email coz dat would be fast

sorry for replyin to ur queries this late , i was outta delhi . jus hoping dat u must av solved da problems wid ur phone but if not here it goes ....
1)this phone does not support password protection for access , so i guess u will av to search internet n download some software or something ( most of the games n softwares meant for k750i must work wid w300i so it should b easy to search )
2)if u want ur contacts onli in sim card just delete contacts frm da phone n memory card , then go to contacts - options - advanced - default contacts , now select sim contacts

Fantastic phone..really cool..great sound..not a bad camera..got lots of function..its not only just a walkman phone..really good value for money i would bet it against Nokia 3250..W300 battery is not a thing to worry..its a cute handy phone..which very one likes when sees it..

Ans: Yes. It has mass storage feature which means you can save any kind of files and transfer them, just as a pen drive. Even though the files are not supported, you can download from the web directly to your phone using GPRS/EDGE etc. Few files are only visible (as I have noticed) when you connect your phone to a PC in "file transfer mode". This is really a good phone.
@ someone: This is a walkman phone and plays MP3 and MP4 plus AAC and the quality is superb. Get yourself a new set of earphones (from Sony or any other which has good bass reflex), and you'll never change the "mega bass" EQ to anything else (what I'm doing).

yes it's a music phone and has a MP3 player and fm radio...the "W" logo on the phone indicates it is a Walkman phone.it is fairly good, didn't got the chance to use it but the only thing i didn't like was the display.looked worse then my 6170 display althou it has 265k colors but same 128x160 pixel size

I have starting using my phone n solved d prob of changing d phone language but Im facing some probs in its formatting n settings. To start wd:
1) Iam not being to able to put a lock on it such as a password protected keypad lock.
2) Also I have saved my contact list in all three, phonebook,sim card n memory card wherein I jst want my contact list shud b saved only in my sim card n nowhere else.
3) How can I rec calls from my handset even wen I have attached my handsfree along wd it.
So plz help me wd it I will b really grateful. Luking fwd to ur response..tc

Can sumone plz tell me about changing the faceplate. I hav a black W300i and i was wondering if i can buy a white face plate and put it on, therefore turning it into a white cellphone. Can sumone tell me if that is possible? Thnx... David

Hey, guys. I could use some oppinions.
My friend is planning on getting a new phone soon, and is deciding on a z550i or a w300i. Price does matter to him because he is on a budget. But will spend a little extra for a phone with good features.
And also, camera matters to him as well. it says in the w300i specs that the camera is interpolated to 1.3mp so does that mean that the camera is equivalent to 1.3mp? If yes, he will probably be getting this phone and not the z550i.
Advise on this please. Thanks.
