I bought this phone last week and its a nice phone to have it. If you are not very keen on camera then the overall its a excellent phone. One tip for camera is that at home(indoors) normally I select night mode then the picture is more clear. Phone does not come with applications like 3d world clock, measurement converter but you can download it plus other stuff from sony website its free. One flaw is that if you go to dial/received/miss/ calls it displays only the last(latest) call made to or from that nr. and doesnt show previous calls to that nr. If anyone knows how to correct it please advise. Any tips overall are welcome!

Hi, i just bought a SE W300i & i think i dint commit any mistake. just over day with that phone & i am in loveee with it...its cutely designed, dual diplay & walkman series r a total feast ! its camera though interpolated with 1.3MP,is as good as any normal 1.3MP. So, i shuld think this phone should be bought by many other people. also its upgradable, from a default 256 MB card to 1GB CARD.

hi ya guys..i want 2 know about the camera of w300i mobile.i hav heard taht mobile is too good but the camera is 0.3 mp and in vga..so plz upgrade the camera in 1.3 or 2.0 pix of w300i.then i think many people must purchase it coz of fm and camera and also w300i is decent and graceful mobileset.tell e-mail me prob....bye

yes, its possible to change names for bluetooth connection.

w300 has only one external speaker but the sound through external speaker is decent enough. its surely less than w550 but i think it shoould be enough. and ofourse through headset it will give u an excellent sound. 6230i sound wont even come near to it.

If i Play the Music Without the HAndsfree is it Loud enough ??
i currently own a nokia 6230i but i want to sell it and buy a w300i because the mp3 sound of nokia is Just Worse !!!!!!!!!!!!.
And Here In holland the Price is 100 euro for both of the phones is thah expensive ??

It has low quality camera (only 0.3MP) since it can interpolate images into 1.3MP but after transferring to PC.

hey guys, just wanna ask u users about the quality of the camera. Is it clear when u snap it and how about devaloping it??.Does it look clear too in the computer?..I was thinking to change it but many of my friends says its VGA. Its like the same quality of my hp now......please help me!!............thanks, i'm from malaysia and do u guys know how much is it?? the last time i saw was in KL sentral selling at RM1190.....bye

so this site is saying that this phone has "VGA, 640x480 pixels (interpolated to 1.3 MP), video(QCIF)"
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT DOES "INTERPOLATED TO 1.3MP" MEANS?????????????

i bought this phone for my girlfriend. i was impressed with it but only initially.
when the phone started, i was dissapointed with its average screen quality. i have not seen such weak displays in any sony phones.i own motorola e398 and its screen quality is better than w300.
camera too is average but for me camera in a mobile is only additional feature.
it does not even plays fullscreen videos.
about the sound quality, its one of the best, no doubt. even with one external speaker it gives good sound. from the headphones it gives excellent sound. bass effects is more pronounced. bass is so high that with mega bass enabled its impossible to hear in full volume but still when its kept at one level down, sound is excellent. best i have heard so far.
"my shortcut" key which is present in W550 is missing in this phone.
battery life is also excellent.
3 days without charging with average use.
i had thought of buying this mobile. but now i am going to wait for rokr e2 to release. i think it will be a much better option.

Awesome mobile.. Its sleek n slim inspite of bein a flip phone.. Sound is great... U can listen to songs for the entire day with it...Interface is also good.. Only -ve feature is camera... It looks poor in phone.. after transferrin it to PC it is of the same quality as any other mobile with 1.3 MP cam.... feel rate might come down.. bought it on the first day when it was launched..so anyone interested go for it.. but be patient..in 3 mths time rate might come down..

@ Dreadnought the w300 doesn't have the exgangeable covers only the z530 has. see mobile-review.com for further info. :D

Rs.12500 for W300i... But W700i cost only Rs.13000. Only an addition of rs.500 for VGA to 2mp camera. isnt that W300i is overpriced at 12500.

bought it off ebay for $300 (includes s&h) and got it last monday. it's a cool phone if you are not too picky about the camera/video options and the sound quality is ok, but i'm not too picky about that either. i was able to upload 300+ songs with 20kbps in AAC format (with a 256MB memory card micro, which came with the phone btw).
it has some other features like voice recorder, games, radio, bluetooth, etc. i love this phone. i owned the LG CU320 for like a month(it was stolen) before buying this. i just like that it is a flip/clamshell phone so i don't accidentally press buttons, especially when i put my phone inside my pocket.
i have cingular and i just called them to fix the internet today and now it works. so i'm happy about that! i downloaded more themes from sonyericsson.com/fun.
i haven't quite tested out battery life yet. so far, i've had to charge it 2x since monday since i've been trying out all the options, especially bluetooth. i was able to transfer files through bluetooth, unlike the CU320. internet/bluetooth technologies on a phone really use up batteries though.
anyway, good phone for anyone too cheap to buy a separate mp3 player/iPod.
