can it transfer a mp3 that is more than 4mb of se w550i? how many kb can it store one hundred pictures and one hour of video recording. can it use mp3 as calling and messaging? i think the picture taken with the camera should be clear. please tell me more details about se w550i.

Aayush, yeah the W900 may cost twice the price but u r gettin value for money. I mean just look @ the W550 and u will see the SE engineers created the phone for the people who jus want to hav a phone with reasonable capabilities. Its a good phone but still i wud prefer the W900 though u wud be paying the double for it. I dnt no what currency you use but where i live it wud cost us around R3500 (three thousand five hunderd rand its South African Currency)that is £318/$580/500e (I cant figure out how to do the euro sign)! So ill jus hav to get some more money!

alansm, the phone already supports Chinese characters. Just press and hold '#' when typing a message to bring up the languages menu.
Ya, W550i does not support memory card, rechard. The engineers at Sony Ericsson decided to provide a generous 256 MB of internal memory instead, though I won't deny that I would have preferred the former option.
Er, javi, it is spelt 'A-A-Y-U-S-H'. :)
Definitely the W550i, according to me, Mark.
XennoX, I agree with you that the W900i is infinitely better than the W550i, but it costs more than twice the price of W550i. W550i is the most value for money product in the market so far, when it comes to mobile phones.

Mark, i wud hav 2 recomend the W550, 6630 & D500 are OLD! The Motorola's hav a huge failure rate 1 in every 3 motorolas fails their users in the 1st month, so i wud hav 2 say go for the W550i.

Rechard, dont get this fone its a walkman phone for the budget conciouses person, no it cant take a memory card, so thats a waste and with only +- 250MB memory it has a small limit compared to its big brothers, the SE W800 & W900, to be honest go for the W900 +- 450MB internal + 2GB card means lots of mp3's/vids/pics, plus camera is brilliant, friend of mine is testing the W900 for the South African Market, and from what i hear & see it is an absolute brilliant phone!!! Its even got 3G which the W550i doesnt have!

sup. well, my se w550i got flicked at a party....had it for 2 weeks.....bt waznt reali satisfied. cam aint tht clear. bt ballz. sound iz good. connection probs. ntn can beet nokia man.

Hey ted this phone does support mpeg4 and wav files ... and yeah all usual guys , i've got my phone back from the warranty center, its all new again ... i told you once it had this white screen problem ... and now its back, ilove it

hi guys! just wondering why is it that w550i has no extra memory? im planning to buy w550i. but i just want to search first before my money lost. hope you can give advise what's the best SE phones that not much expensive but good in performance. i love SE phones cause nice in design...merry christmas to all.:)

have been using this phone for a month now..
NO ot does not play wav files but you can download softwars from the net to convert wav into mp3 and as u all know the mp3 quality is OUTSTANDING...
Download Xilisoft Video converter to convert all formats into 3gp and u can even improve the resolution and all with this software..

the sony ericsson w550 in singaore is be coming cheaper and cheaper. this phone use to be quite expensive but ever since starhub quote the price at $288 singapore other phone company like m1 quote exactly same price. i belive the phone would be so common and would not have much value. lets hope the sony ericsson do somthing about it.

I am not really sure about the support for WAV files, never tried it! There is no such software provided with the phone.
