i didnt encounter any problem connecting my w550i to my pc, to those who are experiencing problem connecting their w550i to their pc or laptop, probably the problem is the driver(software), try reinstalling it, though, some OS like WindowsXP and 2000, automatically detect it and autoplay it's content. or try to look and search the drive thru disk management. hope it would help you somehow

Again, it happened. I CAN'T TRANSFER FILE! Just as I connected the USD Cable, it disconnected by itself. This is so frustrating. Though I'm not sure if this is my laptop's problem OR the phone. But it's really annoying. Anybody with experience, please help.

Hiiii guys i just bought Sony Eric w550 n its really a very cool fone.i jsut transferred a ringtone via bluetooth from nokia 2 my w550 but it says that it can nt play the song.can any1 tel whts d prblm like or i dnt knw how 2 operate it?

just baught a week ago.facing a lot of proablems.takes a lot of time to switch on , hangs in the middle of something ano.verry verry slow. dident come out to be as usefull as it was displayed.after 150 mb is transferred, the phone would not work only.
i recoment pls do not buy it.
total wastage.

Is this phone worth getting if you have a mac, not PC? (how much do you rely on a computer to use this phone, with files, songs, photos etc?)

for music lovers who love hearing their favorite songs thru headsets, well, W550i is the best choice. I compressed my songs to 32kbps in order to save as many as 180 songs, and all played well and sounded great thru my headsets. Funny thing, just now, everything seem to be working well. I can now transfer files by just hooking up the USB cable. Very easy and stable (so far)... now sure why it didn't work last night... but it's ok now.

Guys its great phone that is what I heard & read in all websites. Planning to buy this in Delhi but all says "Short of stock" OR " Book order & later get delivery". What to do????
1. Can this w550i record conversation & also have option of video recording with sound????
2. Is there any type of software problem in the set??????
3. Hoz the camera pic quality????? OK / Poor / BAD .
4. How loud is the ringtones of the set????? either normal ringtones or MP3 tones.
5. Is the set is durable after long time use???? Any possibility of play in the the set outer shell.
Plz help me by answering my above queries....since I am crazy to hve this phone but before that i want to ensure whether its hassle free set or not for long run like nokia.
Plzzzzzz help me......

the phone looks really nice , me really among k750,w800 and w550 , which onw to buy, peolpes suggest me n plz do tell me that option of rewind, farword, pouse etc are present in w550 while playing videos. thankyou..

aawwsomeee. luvin the mobile.. sexy shape and cool perfomance, good user interface, impressive sound!! though ound is the thing which stands out! just aw aw AWSOME! sound.. luv listening songs on it..evry nite every day :D:D.. my mob..i just luv it :P ... aniways, u'd really enjoy this phone, just buy it man, watcha thinking of? :P

I just changed my W800i to W550i today. Mainly because I synch from Outlook and I have >600 names in my Phonebook. I see that W550i has better UI than W800, so I like that. BUT, I have a problem now. Once I connect the USB cable, my laptop recognizes it and I got a Removable Drive at my Windows Explorer... BUT, it only stays just a few seconds and disconnected itself automatically. End up, I STILL CAN'T DOWNLOAD ANY mp3 SONGS into it!!! Can anyone help??

Dear Jo, read the review again - here is the part that you missed : "Sample pictures (the higher noise levels are caused by the low light conditions)", and something else - do you think that there is better phone camera from these of sony ericsson? nokia have very good cameras, but even the latest and expensive models can only dream about sony ericsson quality! just look at the pictures...

i got a question, coz it was not on the specifications on this site, can this phone play mpeg4 videos? coz im planning to get the w600,(which is exactly same as this except for the EDGE), well whatever would be cheaper by the time i get my money haha! thanks in advance

well sony ericsson OS is average but lacks of somethings, in that nokia and motorola is better by a lot.
have anyone read the review? why if the pics there is a horrible noise on it the reviewer doesnt say anything bout it? , on disv, i would dare to say its just another SE fan review, not pointing all the disadvanteges
