ricky, I have stopped posting here because of the repetitive questions but I think I can help you out. Log onto http://www.sonyericsson.com/ and select your country and then send them your complaint and request them to either fix or replace it via the feedback form. They will surely help you out.
Your phone and/or the battery has some problem. This is NOT normal.

anyway, i think all the batteries for this w550i are made in china.. (mine is made in china)

based on your story, i can say that maybe there is a factory defect with your battery. "messaging 5 times....use walkman function for 20 min,play games 20 min,.." » Gee, i use it twice your time, and i still got 2 days (and even more)..
@srikantrh and the rest who asked bout the video
15 minutes of video recording in the daylight takes about 10 mb.

memory occupied by the 30 minute video depends on the clip.For eg,if its in night itwill occupy more.

i already ask the retailer to change my battery but they refuse!i'm so angry!
they said its normal!.....i'm not satisfied!
how often you touch@use the function on that phone????now i'm trying to not to use my phone frequently to see is that true my battery not working normally!
my battery actually made in china...what about you???

for me, battery is just fine, as a matter of fact it's more energy saving compared to several phones I have used, sometimes it could last to 4 days.
Maybe there's a factory defect with your fone, better check it up or replace it immediately...

i need to recharge it everyday!i dont know why the battery drain very fast eventhoungh in minimal use!can you believe....for examples today,i sent message 5 times....use walkman function for 20 min,play games 20 min,..i need to recharge it on the next day!
i also dissapointing becoz yesterday it startup by itself 2 times!now totally it startup by itself 4 times!
why we cannot rename camera picture!what a boring number!why K700 can,but W550 cant?
SE slowly makes me down with their phone...honestly!

believe me, for a multimedia phone like this w550i, the battery capacity is very, very good.

i don't know about the recording time..
but the standby time (for everyday usage - 1 hour of making calls, 2-3 hours of mp3 listening, 1 hours of messaging..) well i can reach 2-3 days. another person i read in a forum can reach 4-5 days of standby time..

Hopefully I will be getting this phone soon, so just some last minute questions :-}
How long will it record a video? My current phone will manage a max of 4mins.
What's the "real" standby time of the battery?

IMHO, with all the great features, it's the cheapest in the market... That's great value.
Here in the Philippines, I've seen several people in the gym using walkman phones, some of them w550i.
In the malls, you could see a few wearing there w550i's like necklaces... I real headturner...

The earphones are fantastic, but be careful, once you put them you won't be able to hear the outside environment LITERALLY!!!
I seldom use my ipod, I only use my ipod whenever I work out in the gym, I don't want dumbells or plates crush my cellphone...
As a matter of fact, a update my playlist in my phone more frequently than in my ipod...
Yes, you could also record and play videos over the phone, IMHO can also be at par with s700i.
I even downloaded more games, so its better than NGAGE IMHO...
Guys if you want more mp3's in your phone, I suggest you compress the bit rate, so it can save up to 100 songs... comparable to ipod shuffle huh...

I don't think there's a bluetooth stereo headset available for this phone because this phone doesn't support the bluetooth A2DP (Audio Advance Distribution Profile) like the Motorola E680i. Such requirement is needed in order to use a bluetooth stereo headset.

Wow man I can't believe this thing almost replace your iPod. But yes it makes sense because the earphone supplied with this phone is better than the iPod's. I love the bass.

still looking for bluetooth stereo headset that we can listen to mp3 wireless.
have anyone tried using bluetooth headset to listen to mp3? pls let me know..

I have has this phone for one month, and it almost replaced my ipod.
It has really good battery life. Nice game mode, esp. the Worms 3D, great sound both using the earphones or the loudspeakers, head turner design and a lot more.
But having been a previous s700i owner, i got disappointed with the camera, although both of them have 1.3 megapix cam, s700i is better.
Another thing I like about w550i is that you can change covers from orange to white (I hope more styles will be available in the near future.)
256 memory is ok...
I'll give you a run down of what is inside my phone
I have about 10 games, a couple of pictures (since I frequently transfer in on the PC), one video, and 60 mp3 songs, and still I have 130 MB of free memory...
Why?
I convert the MP3 songs bit rate using the Phone's disc2phone software... from a 128bit rate file I convert it to 64, thus making a 4mb file into 2mb with a very minimal change in quality (highly unnoticeable)
I got this fone very cheap, no regrets!!! Everytime I buy a new SE fone, it get better and better.

I never had any troubles with the bluetooth. Try to upgrade your firmware. Maybe it could help.
Yes i also experienced the freeze when i play worm. That moment, in the middle of the game, i received n replied a text message, thus receiving a phone call. When i got back to the game, it froze. Maybe it's because the RAM is full..
