I picked up one of these in CT/USA just 1-2 months ago. My #4 key developed a crack right down the middle after about 3 weeks of use...today I now have 8 of 12 keys split in the same fashion. I've owned phones for 2-3 years and pounded out the text messages religiously with out something like this happening. I specifically avoided getting a phone with the touchscreen keys because I know they can be very problematic, and I prefer texting where I can actually "feel" a button to depress. Just that now I'm wondering when these cracks will simply cause the buttons to fall off!!! Other than that, I've had no problems with the phone. It holds a charge well, gets good reception, easy to navigate the web, my mail, etc. Just those darn buttons!!

i was thinking of buying this phone but when i read all of the opinions i did not know what to do.i really like this phone but im worried that the keypad would start cracking.should i buy this phone?can someone advise me what i should do?

Hmmm time sure fly like a bird... i had this handset for nearly.... around...5month already... and guess what??? its still ALIVE!!! It are a durable phone i must say myself.. i dropped it so many time that i didnt bother to count already... and there is no prob at all... and the defected keypad?? i dont give a damn... sure it look ugly but if u think the other way.... its just a scratch... no big deal u can still press it anyway... And the speaker is amazing... surpass w910 which i compare with my friends... and custom skins for the walkman makes it more awesome than eva... TWO ThumBS UP:) and the signal is pretty good... better than k550....

Though this phone has a great array of features, I regret buying it because of how cheap it feels, my buttons have cracked within 3 weeks of owning it (yes it is a new model too!) and O take very good care of it. The lip under the keys also is loose.

hey dudes...
i just bought 580 n its awesome.. but am havin a lil difficulty in removing n fixing the battery cover for changing the sim.. i just tried to remove it like in the user manual.. just slide the cover a bit n then open.. but then too its a lil difficult...ny easier way???

U people know from last 1 month my W580i set is with service center engineers, The engineers unable to solving the problems..Now i m really realising that what a useful mobile it is and now i m using 2nd hand LG 1600(more than 3 yrs used) it is far better than new new set of w580i....he he he he he he he.................

I dont know why people complain that the problem with phone is it doesnot have flash and blah blah... why dont u people just got thru the features before u buy a phone...

hi,i have heard that its having very poor quality.within few days its keypad is getting cracked,display problem,software issue.so according to me the 2nd name of w580i is .....PROBLEM.so you wants to purchase problem?

this mobile s awesome but it has some defects lik no flash light for camera, no autofocus and often the handset s hanging. o careful wen u think to but this set.

Has any1 else had the problem, when you have added your music tracks to the music player, although it is sorted my name, it goes :
a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z : Then when it hits Z its only half way through my songs, and starts again at " a " with my other songs :S

I think that cracking keys problem is solved with newer models.
When i was buying a k750i I ignored the joystick problem. Now I have k750 for more than
a year and my joystick works just fine.

I have buy this set in this month itself.This is a awesome set I think so 7 the price is also suitable for a heavy amount of people.you can sure buy it if you planning for Sony Ericsson sets.But I have a question that I am using my MP3 player often in this phone.What will be this phones battery backup after one year?Plz. clarify my query.

this phone rocks reccomend this phone over a lot theres been alot of problems but in 2008 the newer models are much better and reliable defo to get i got it in black

umm go for the C902 ok? its much better than Nokia 6500 even though i kinda like the design and W580 is not good enough. too many problems with W580.

I have this phone and it's excellent! If you treat it with care, you shouldn't be having issues as cracked buttons, etc. It's a great phone with many helpful features and well worth it, just be sure to take care of it.
