hey guys, if you buy w580 from rogers u cannot set mp3 as ringtones cuz rogers locked it for some reason. but if u fully unlock it, it wont be a problem and thats what i did like about a few weeks back in 2007.

I have the pink version of this phone, and i find that the battery life decreases so quickly, that it doesnt even last a whole day, thats without listenin to music. does anyone else have this problem?

the sony w580i is not working proper because software problem in this phone so plz solve it

last night i switched my w580 to my k800 and i missed my walkman so badly that i changed it back! its so sweeet that its gotta go wit me everywhere... oh and useful too, I use it to record interviews and important lectures in class!!

Now thats intresting, i can set my MP3 as ringtones...
may be can you just restart the phone then try it (I know it sounds dumb).
If the above doesnot work .. try saving a mp3 in the phone memory and try setting it.

I just have one question. I try to use my mp3's as ringtones, but every time I try to set it, it says "cannot set this file as ring tune". Does anyone know why this happens?

I use T9 for sms and keypad is still ok. No bugs on my w580 yet..

I bougth this phone on September and I sent it back after one day of use...Really a crap...very nice looking but too many bugs...come on sony!!!!!

Ive had this phone a while now, since reading complaints about the buttons cracking, Ive noticed that mine have aswell a little split down the middle.. also the memory card at the top keeps popping out which is really anoying!

hi pple ive had the fne 4 a while now and its a great fne,i work 4 vodacom and sell the fne aswel,the only prob is dat d keypad does crack,ive had 4 buttons on it crack

yes u can set mp3 ring tones as ring tone go in the file manager and then go on to the file u want to set press the right button more in more option go to use as ant then set as ring tone

I have owned thi sphone since almost 3 months now. The problem i have faced is that it hangs on a screen while i am on a call, sometimes. The call is disconnected, but the screen still shows that i it's connected. I can't go to the main screen, can't even Restart!! Maybe it's a virus that i got thru bluetooth. Another pro- sometimes the speakers just go off. Walkman shows playback failed, and can't listen to the othe side if i make a call at that time. Maybe because of the same virus!

I've had the grey 1 for a few weeks now and its great. Dont like tha shake control cuz it shuffles and doesnt skip. SHOULD HAVE HAD OPTIONS FOR THAT!! And the battery life is crap for anyone who actually uses a cell phone. but apart from that its great. LOVE THE CAMERA DESPITE THE ABSENCE OF FLASH...IN GOOD LIGHT, PICS ARE SUPERB

my grey w580i has just gone back as after the 28 day warranty the top half of the slider moves when you hold the phone against your ear and so i can hear a clicking sound when on a call. also the lower part moves when texting or navigating. the cool lights on it are supposed the flash when the phone rings, this is intermittent sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt, i just hope it gets sorted

I recently bought the Sony Ericsson W580, I have only had the phone for just over 3 weeks and 2 numbers on the keypad have cracked. Im very dissapointed by this. Then im told I have to wait 6-8 weeks for it to be fixed, I think I should be provided with a new phone without the faulty keypad. As I read in an article the shipment found with the faulty keypad was stopped immediatley. Therefore the stores must have ones without faulty keypads.
