ok so ur first phone took 5 months and then its keypad started to crack this is ur second phone and it havent been 5 months still how can u be so sure that its keys wont start to crack after another 5 months ...

I'm thinking of getting this phone and am worried about the cracked keys. Is there a serial/model or manufacturing date to find out whether your phone is a newer model with keys that don't crack?

i am usins this phone since 5 months now...my keypad also cracked but my whole handset was changed.but now there is no problem as keypad of this changed is very good nd diffenrt also...so need not to worry now.camera's good,execellent music,shake control rox.

anybody knows how to lock when slider is not open....any key combination or setting and in my mobile when the network goes the mobile stop working means it goes in standby mode, if am playing walkman it gets stopped....any setting ...or its a default feature.......

I was planning to get this phone for Christmas but hearing that the keypads are really weak, I'm not so sure about getting this phone anymore. Someone please say something to change my mind. I wanted this phone for a long time.

I did not like this phone, will go back to Nokia as much friendly use and stable.

there is no way by which u can download flash themes......
you gotta be happy with ur preloaded themes..

Hi everyone! I am going to get this phone finally!! I was going to get the W910i but it was way too expansive. I just have a question, does both W580i and W910i have the "shake control" function??

do u mean the key pad buttons gets cracked after sending 200 messages may i know if s.e. have come across some kind of a solution for this problem before releasing more w580's for the market does the latest released w580's give the same problem ... cuz im so upset i was looking forward to buy it ... the design is very nice ... im so confused cuz so many ppl have described about the keypad getting cracked after few months of use in every web site ...

Yeah i bought this one in august 2007. after 2 weeks (200 sms) more than half of the buttons was broken!!! I went to the store and they sent it away for 1 month(!) and i've got new buttons. And now one button is broken again... So, i have to take it back again. Hopefully it wont hold that time either and then i can get another phone. The musicplayer and so on is great, but the physics of the phone suxx :(

apparantly there was a fault with a batch of the W580s. where the key pads were to stiff and big for the gap on the casing.
also sidelights software glitch, where they are meant to light up same colour on either end, but fault is one is one colour the other side has a different colour.
my keys cracked within the month and then my top left key stop responding... still waiting for my replacement

Awww, my keypad cracked already. I only had it for a month and 4 keys have cracked. Im really shattered.
