This phone is not a piece of junk... A piece of junk is compared to a piece of rubbish... Rubbish is something like a lolly wrapper, a broken item, etc. Clearly this a phone which may not be the best of the best but it does have a reasonable amount to offer. I dont think its appropriate to bag a phone like that. If you want to bag something go search for "Prada"

its a horrible phone.
the buttons don't work properly.
i've only had it for .. less than 3 months.. and like.. the major buttons dont even work anymore.

To Asim:
You can try in Zedge downloading K800 or T650 themes. It should work.
W610 and W660 themes don´t work in this mobile because those models has lower resolution displays. But K800 and T650 have same resolution than W580. Good luck

Sony Ericsson W580i is the best model because its smart , cool , hot and impressive look.

Going on three months, no problem so far. Unbelievably attractive phone! Great features! Shame I cant use some of them where I'm at but, its the best phone I've ever owned. Cant get away from the MP3 player, downloading games and themes. The only downside is my pathetic excuse for a carrier.

I have had my W580I for just over 2 months and my 1st key cracked yesterday, the shop said they will send it for the keypad replacing as SE have now designed a reinforced keypad for the phones with this problem (I assume the new batches have it as standard), anyone had their keypad replaced with a supposed "reinforced" one and any further problems?

for those of you in the states, my friend just picked up this phone for free through at&t with a new 2 year contract so i'd check there. i liked it when i saw it, personally i want the k850 but this is a sweet phone, specially when it didn't cost anything

I know how 2 handle keypads an have small thumbs We have every rite to rant having had s500i w580i to and twelve of me mates had w580i where keypads cracked ITS AN ISSUE FULLSTOP if u get a keypad that dont crack congratulation when you spend money hard earnt an keypad cracks your entitled to rant.

Hey does anybody know where I can get themes for this phone? I searched in Zedge but no luck. I tried downloading W610 & K550i themes but no luck. Any ideas?

i just go this phone and omg is so sexy. I really like it so far. Its small, slim and compact. Camera is not that great but if you want a camera phone get the k850... I really like the Walkman applications. Keypad is not that bad actually, but if u a texter you may have some trouble. Anyways, its a nice phone

steve, you're encouraging everyone to rant more on the quality of this keypad... what's wrong with you? everyone knows by now that they keypad breaks easily when people LIKE YOU doesnt know how to handle it...
from the looks of it, your thumb is too big and heavy so instead of blaming YOURSELF, you look at other things/people/entity to blame why your keypad broke for the second/thrid time... it's you that's the problem man... so STFU.

not sure why people complain so much when they see that a phone doesn't have 3G... maybe it's their location or what not... but really, what's the big deal? i've had a nokia before that has 3G and now I have this w580 without 3G... i couldn't tell the difference... if anything, this w580 works better inside an elevator than my previous nokia 6680

I will repost this again to address this issue. Here's the deal. YOU CAN use an mp3 file as a ringtone IF AND ONLY IF your mp3 file is 30 secs or less.
YOU CANNOT use any mp3 file as a ringtone if it is 30.01 secs of more....

I have own this phone and believe me it is a very good phone.It has a very stylish look,great sound quality.But camera is not so good.Every one is talking that it's keypad is frail but i do not find this problem. It's display is crystal clear and it is not very expensive only 13K.If u want a phone with only music purpose then w580 is the best.It's speaker is loud and sound is very clear.According me me it scores 8.5 out of 10.But i will again say camera is not so good no auto focus.But if u r thinking of buying this phone then go for it without any confusion.

Someone asked why MP3 song doesn't work as ringtone and the answer is: Is true, the Mp3 doesn't works as ringtone, you just can hear them. But this not is a trouble, all phones haves the same condition. This phone is amazing!
