I had that phone, was very nice while it lasted.
Unfortunatly it didnt last long ( 6-8 months only)
First thing that went on my phones were the buttons on the number pad. they were cracking in half. I dont have any nails and i was a Newbie texter so a overusage or (using nails) isnt possible for that.
Another thing was the side buttons - The menu buttons Left/Right aswell as the bottom werent working all the way. you would have to push down extremely hard in order to actualy enable the button to do what you want. The speakers when i slide open it would be alot louder and when i slide itclosed you can barely hear anything that comes out of it.
Last and not least, THE FACEPLATE of the phone fell right off, ya thats right i could see what the phone was made of.
Those are just the Cons of the phone ( when i got it )
The pros about it, it was a EXCELENT music player, very fast and the quality was great! i loved the earbuds. Aswell the camera quality thi its not much and no flash very good quality. aswell Loved the Pedometer ( shows how much you walk/distance and cal burned)
over all it wasnt that much of a disapointment. i loved it while it lasted. i would say buy at own risk, tho this phone is pretty cheap now so if you need a phone that you need to use incase of emergency. go for it.

Great phone, very fast and very good looks! The camera and music are also very good! I also got the problem of the cracked buttons, but mine didn't drop off... Keypad works still fine for me after a year... Really a great phone

i have been reading that the keypad brokes up very frequently. so whats the solutions for this. can it be fixed with glu or gum or the only solution is the replacement of keypad and how much does keypad costs

this phone has a ton of cool features, worth the price. however, the keys crack and fall out and its not very sturdy at all. overall its a good pick.

All of the above comments are right bcz i also have w580i its a very good handset the only problem that i face is its key buttons craks despite all that i like this phone.

i like this phone but just bought it a month ago. it's already starting to lose up at the head and it heats up easily. other then those still love this phones

i used to owned w580i. the keypad won't crack if you don't use your nail to press it. the camera and sound is totally gorgeous ! but, the batery's suck ! i could never play games while lstening to mp3! even though it's already fully charged! arghh.
my w580 is already broke. it fell down and the screen broke. and also my keypad jam. i am not sure, but i can hardly press some of the keypads. i have repair it, but after a few weeks, it broke again.

This phone is so awsome. I have had it for almost a year and there is just one problem, the screen would go black when I was useing the buttons but for some reason it stopped doing that and it works fine again so really if anyone wants to get this phone and is to scared to buy it because the commets ,don't be scared it is a awsome phone. also the MP3 player is awsome.

this phone is gr8! although the keypads do drop off..
however, i drop the phone over 10times and its still working! every other functions are good too. Gr8 phone!!

i v w580i from july 08...it is fantastic fone... but some time when some 1 call me... ipress answer key, but cant ans d fone.......on the other hand it fell down from my hand 8-9 times it has broken too from a edge but it is working 100 percent performance,,,, on \\no obstacle

aki, 25 Apr 2009Had this phone for more than a year now and all was good un... moreSony Ericsson told me in an e-mail that the phone is under a two year warranty, so you can send it to Sony Ericsson and they will fix it for free provided it's been less than two years since you bought it and if the fault is covered by the warranty. You can check with the shop where you bought it but they will probably charge now it's been a year.
