hi!..i ws realy lookin 4ward 2 buyin this fone ...in fact i wud hv bot ti 2morow!!!...but soo many negativ coments makin me think 2ice..im curently usin w550...its an awsum fone...but i lovee th look of th white w580...nebody wh used w580, cn u pls gime a comparison wit this 1??...i only use my fone 4 basic purposes lyk calin, txtin n definitly music...thts all...shud i go 4 it...plsssss gime ur feedbaks ASAP...wana buy a walkman fone by this week...thnx!!! :)

well...guys ..i have been using the sony ericsson mobile phones for atleast 6 years with different models...and no wi have w580i .....and beleive me guys this phone is too cool.......i have been using this phone for 6 months and i have no problem with that...no key pad breaked..n other issue.....i shake it ost o fthe time while listening walkman....and it has a very sharp video player....i fyou play the mp4 high quality video ..so you will fing it like a tv!!! man i love this phone....and if someone is planning to buy it so go ahead.you will never regart.....untill you destryoed it bu your own hand...

this phone is the best i ever handled.some says its bad because they dont know how to use it.The settings in the brightnest of the screen should be lowered to 50%so that it will consume less energy

I love this phone i dont have it but i want it its really cool and if your keypad breaks isn't my problem just dont push the keypad 2 hard

My w580 has to be charged up every day without fail else it dies. I received this phone as part of my contract but I found it very poor. Cracked keypads and a very rubbish camera. Any ideas as to why the charge is so bad? I don't use it any more as I prefer the w810 I have :)

This is by far the worst phone I've owned.
The software is crap. When I turn my phone on, I have to press the power button three times, becuase the first two times it turns on and then shuts right back off. Sometimes when I change my settings they don't work or take effect.
The Memory card has fallen out multiple times... not completely, just enough to make it so the phone does not recognize the card so it makes it look like i've lost all my contact and my photos.
My #4 and #7 buttons have cracked.
It only holds the charge for about 4 days and my last phone (Samsung) held a charge for 7 days.
You can't zoom when taking a still pic. You can only zoom when taking a video.
I don't understand why it has two music players....waste of space. (Rogers and Walkman)
I bought this phone for $300 on an upgrade when it first came out and I really regret it.
The week after it came out the competitors had already surpassed it technically.
0.5/10 - only because it still works.

It's not that bad. SE has fixed it already, if you're unlucky & you get the old batch then go back to SE's service centres & get your keypad/problems fixed for free. This is one of the best walkman phones in it's price range!

have it for 1.5 years. very good phone. keypad looks a little flakey, but i'm not an SMS guy, so I don't care. very light footprint, fits in most pockets without problems. battery is EXCELLENT. a charge lasts 5-6 days with no problem with 1-2 hours of radio/mp3 per day and an average of 3-400 talk minutes per month.

I had a good experience with Sony Ericsson so far. Was using W700i for 1.5 yrs before buying this piece of scrap.
It looks good and there's nothing else. Sound quality is worse than what Nokia music phone gives you.
This phone made me change perception about Sony Ericsson phones and I am selling it now and switching back to Nokia.

k so first of all, a lot of people say you cant zoom?..well you can, you just press the up button (simple).
second, it has really good speakers, clear and loud.
third, the camera is way better than most 1.3 mega pixel camera phone, it has 2.0
fourth, when the buttons crack, it makes it a hella of a lot easier to type, so i dont know why its a bad thing.
so either you guys are all retarded, or were talkin about a different phone, cause mines perfect.

W580i sucks, not even a good phone. It only looks great and the speakers are super loud and good quality. Nothing else in this phone is good, so boring. Keypad also sucks.

She bought the plan in Nov 2007 & it's been back 3 times for cracked buttons. The Source gave her a junk loaner while it was away being fixed. (6 weeks at a shot!) The last time, they didn't have one to loan her, but Rogers billed her for the month anyway. Shortly after she got it back last time she went to pick it up off her bedside table in the morning, and it burned her hand. She is afraid to use it anymore for fear of burning the house down. Rogers tells her she has to pay $400. to get out of her contract. It seems to me that they have not held up their end of the bargain. Know of anyone who has had the same probs and got any satisfaction??
