W595 became available last month. It's an update to your W580. Funny. I wonder how long before the problems will start popping up. 4 months i guess. Most of SE's current phones always has something nowadays...

girls, 02 Oct 2008im looking foward to this phone. any disadvantages? does th... moreThe phone itself is really good, but mine started to fail after 4 months. Lots of awful lines on the screen. Apparently, the flex gets damaged from using the slide.

well after using w580 for about 1 year i thought i am the best person to write a review
firstly w580 is a very nice phone no serious problems at all
although its keys do break
but only if you play games for long or press them really hard
but even after breaking they function well and thats not a big problem
secondally its screen has got a cover on it from the company or you can attach a cover available in market no big problem though
the only problem i faced is its battery backup is low if you listen to songs quite often better carry a charger with you
to save battery always set brightness to minimum
finally w580 is a nice phone stylish and cool
it rocks a best buy on its price range

The first thing i would like to tell everyone is dont ever dream of buying it at all.
The phone worked well for 4 months and then started the hell lot of problems
first it get shut off automatically and u cant start it again till a long time
second the port which is used to connect the charger and headphones...that stopped working and i had to charge the phone catching it in my hand to avoid the loose contact
third the keypad cracked and now almost all the keys are cracked
fourth and the most horrible problem
whenever i call it gives a disturbance in the background.the disturbance is so horrible tht u just cant talk
fifth the phone gets hanged every now n then
And the worst thing is the service provided by sony
damn its horrible
i have been visiting the service centre from past 3 months and my phone is with the service centre guy from 3 months
the first time he returned the phone in 4 days but no change in the problems
the second time he took 1 week but the disturbance i was mentioning increased
the third time he took 12 days
he told he changes some parts but still no change in fact it got worser with every service
the fourth time he took 25 days saying he would replace the motherboard itself
and you wont believe after getting back my phone within 2 hrs the problem repeated again
i just dont know what kind of service is sony providing
im not going to buy a sony erricsson phone in my life.This was the first time i had bought a sony phone i always prefer nokia and im going to do that for the rest of my life...
if u listen to me PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT BUY W580i...ITS WASTE OF MONEY...USELESS PHONE

wat the hell is happening to my w580i..when i am playing a song through Walkman...the song play until half then become another song!!!then continue back to the song i played after 10-20 sec..pls tell me wat happen?u all got faced these problems?THX

Hi All,
This is phone is greate in color, shape & its sound quality.
But....
Main problem is that in this phone there is no cover facility in its body.
Screen you are looking is real screen, where as all other phones contains a screen (lcd) cover in its body.
And this is the main reason to get damaged by just little moisture in it.

I have this phone since it is released on Rogers on September 07, which is last year , and still using it for a year now. The phone works fine for me. No LCD problems, no dropped calls, no battery or keypad problems. I would really recommend this phone to anyone who is interested in a slim walkman slider phone.
On a lighter note, anyone knows if this phone supports up to 4GB of M2 memory card ? Don't really want to buy a new memory card just to find out that it is slowing the whole system down like in Nokia's phone.

This phone is junk I had it for a month and a half my screen stoped working because a little moisture got into it and now rogers said I have to buy a new phone man am I mad. Its nice to know a company can back there owne merchandice. do not buy this piece of crap!!!!

I've had 4 of these , no charging properly replaced with refurb i sent that one back, next one overheated, fourth one has LCD issues that were supposedly fixed ,it was not sending back again, worse phone I've ever owned,

hi..ive been using this phone for almost 4 months now..nothings wrong with the keypad nor the battery yet..the camera's really nice although i wished it has flash n the video image to be better...urm..i love it for its colour n shape n also coz of its sound system which really ROCK!!though im a bit dissappointed coz the slider felt kinda loose n the paint sat i love so much at d joystick got kinda scrapped (mayb coz ive been using my nails to push) which irritates me coz i love the colour!!!!huhuhuhu...but overall its an ok purchase for sumthing that has style, good camera, awesome speaker and appropriate gaming...if u want more heard d w760 is better...hurm... xp
