I'm going to buy this mobile soon...but all I want to know is....HOW MANY SONGS CAN IT HAVE????!!!! Here is a my review on Sony Ericsson W610, for anyone who is looking to buy one.
I got the w610 about 2 weeks ago. I have used it mostly as a mp3 player and radio than a phone.
So first about its music abilities, its a fairly great player, especially with the stereo earphones it's comes with.
It's MEGABASS setting is very good with the same earphones.
Walkman2 player has few plus point than the old player, like it reads ID3 tags of the mp3 than the folder names, it can show album art also, player is easy to use, well i also like the standard black skin of it.
The rubber padded earphone wipes out all outside sound.
I have seen some complain about side port for connectins, but i finds it easy especially when using it while laying on my back, i can keep it on me and look at the screen. But the hole (eyelet) for the neck/handstrip is placed at bottom, it will bend the earphone wire when hanging on the handstrip, but in a pocket you could slide it in "upside-up" position so the wire wouldn't bend.
Side buttons play/pause, and volume controler(long hold skips the track) works even in standby screen, its very helpfull(its something you finds in many SE sets).
It has TrackID wich records little part of a music and sends to a libry to get infor on the track, cool gadget to find out those songs that you love but dont know their name. It also features Playnow, which i think similar to iTunes (haven't tried it)
well as the cons of the music playing ability, i haven't found a way to see the bitrates of mp3 files, its a pity as this is a walkman player as normal phones have that feature.
Also i finds the sounds of the earphones are still a bit louder at the minimum sound level, i mean when i'm listning to music/radio and doing some other work, i wish i could still lower the sound bit more(but then i manually set the equaliser to lowest setting).
I havent found anyway to record the radio while it plays, is there anyway?? or a Java program that can do that?
Also in my pack it had a SanDisk 512MB M2 ext, memory card but actually it has about 480MB is it normal?? i mean if it was atleast 500MB it would be ok, but 480 is far less than 512 ?
Anyway it has 73MB inbuilt memo; for us, so its a good advantage over w810(as it only has about 20MB)
Well as for the other things, Battery life as far as i found is good, i found at a review that it "practically" can play 22 hours+ music "alone" in earphones i think.
With normal usage it would last about 2 days(it depends on how much calls you make and signal strength) in standby i think it will last more than 3 or 4 days.
It charges automatically when connected to PC usb(cable included) but you can turn that off if you want.
Comparing with W810, the screen of w610 is a little bit larger. but as w810 has a TFT and w610 has a TFD, W810's contrast levels are bit higher. But TFD screen i guess would contribute low power consumption and longer battery life. In my opinion W610's screen is no way bad comparing with w810, and its hard to see any difference other than you placed them side-by-side. Its screens resolutions are very good, even though bit lower reso; (comparing with Nokia's standards) but the bit smaller screen makes the images much more good @ 176x220 reso;.
Camera of w810 is little better as it got a bigger lense (i think thinner w610 cant fit the w810/k750's legendary cam; lense, the best 2MP cam; in its class i think) afterall its a Walkman phone,but autofocus 2MP camera is not bad by anymeans for a quick pics.
I have used 4 Java programs simultaneously without any problem, i havent been abled to test more than 4, but i think it would handle more than 4, Anyway it depends on the programs one uses i guess.

looks the same as the w660 but this phone that i have is simply awesome good feature its a rival against the w810 plus it has version 2.0 walkman

Moreover the sound quality is just awesome.
Megabase will just blow ur mind.take my words for it.In short its a very nice phone with its unconventional looks.

Hi All,
The pictures that you take in daylight are comparable to any 2 mp phone.Superb quality.
But the phone suffers when you are in low light conditions.
One more thing is that the phone doesnt get heated up even when you talk for long hours.I personally feel its a myth or a problem with some batches.

Hi, im interested in buying the SE W610 because i need a music phone. I read before that the battery gets really hot meanwhile U R talking, can someone please let me know if this is true or not?, and if there is something else u don't like about this phone just let me know please! Im really interested in it.

Yes you can play all kinds of mp3 and other format songs.
you can play 3gp and mp4 video also.

This cellphone´s screen is worse than the W810i, but i recommend this cellphone a lot, this cellphone has Java 7.x, while the W810 has 6.x, better processor, better java = better games ! ! ! :D

I suggest you go for W610i. coz it has louder sound than W810i and plenty more features. It has Walkman 2.0 player.

isnt there any false coming in the black/orange version. som says that pics r bit orangish istnt it??? is there any diffence with the other version

when the fone heats during calls, its normal. i had the SE t100 long long ago, it also heat up during calls. better use the headset during calls.
