Listen...I've made the following deal with T-mobile. FREE SE W800 but without the mem.stick. instead they are willing to give me a 2 months discount. Good deal or not.

I have this phone for 1 month now. And i have been in this board since. Ive notice that not all the w800 are the same.
-i can type as much letters that i need to find a contact. not just 1 letter and then scroll down. its a firmware difference that's causing this.

-battery life, IMO, is great on this phone. just remember, turn off ur phone and use the "walkman" mode if ur gonna watch movies. atleast ur not gonna get interrupted when watching ;)
-the only major problem that i have right now are:
1) since i have tMobile, i can't access tzones because this phone is not supported by the tzones (atleast not yet)
2) mine has shutter noise. i have to be on a call while taking pic so the shutter sound is silent.
3) I have a cubicle at work near an outlet so i have all day to charge my phone. the problem is i want to charge my phone AND use my earphones at simultaneously
4) i just got 1 GB of memory and that is not enough for me. now, i use the OEM 512 MB for movies and a 1GB for music and pix. i might do some rearrangments (1GB for Music and movies. 512MB for pix)
These are minor problems that i can overlook. all the features of the phone itself outweighs all the cons for this pohone. I really am glad that i chose this phone and have no regrets in buying this.
As far as price. the cheapest ive seen is $430 (more or less) from BUY.com free shipping too. u might have to wait cuz this phone sells out quick. They have the cheapest mem card also.

I got mine in HongKong for AUD $ 650.00, you can work this out in your currence, saved me a good $300.00 :)

umm adder i was talking bout battery life ^o)
but whilst on subject yes i can only get 1 letter in menu... meh get a life scrolling for 2 secs wont kill you!

man! how come mine doesn't have that feature.. bummer.. maybe that's a firmware difference.. im in the philippines..

i don't know my firmware i didn't do anything with my phone u just scroll down the joystick and then press the letters u want and it works, at least on my phone works

can tap a whole load of letters in contacts to find a person. dunno y casper cant

ive had this phone for about 2 weeks now and absoulutley love it,great camera mp3's sound great to afterall we are talking about the people who invented music on the move with the walkman,ahich does this phone justice,also batery life is 15 and a half hours with continuous playin with a 10 min phone call every 10 min as proved on a british tv program beating the n series by nearly 5 hours.Dont listen to all thes people who blab on about all these things there just jealous because sony ericsson are the best phone makers by far

what is your firmware? how come you can type 2 letters or more when you're searching in contacts? did you do somethiing to your fone? could you teach me how you did it? thanks man..

@ james tan in the contact list U can type more than 3 letters to find the name, on my w800 i can type the whole name i want to search so keep trying

ive been reading up abt this phone on this website and im really interested in getting one... it looks sexy and its sounds great having a mp3 player in the phone itself. ive found out it cost abt rm1800 (USD450) in malaysia.. any1 knows of any better price? i'd be more into listening to my fav mp3s with the phone than watching mpegs, can any1 advice how long the battery will last if the phone is on the same time im listening to the mp3s?

Hey all,
after having this phone for a week i love it, but.
Major problem: BATTERY LIFE, it sux really sux i watched a 1 1/2 hour movie and battery was dead... with a 2 sec warning, dead :( couldnt even turn back on to check for messages...
oh well i am just hoinh to have to buy another battery for those long road trips :D

i've been using this W800 for more than a month now. i personally think that this is a great mobile with all the spec above, EXCEPT:
1.contact list is not so efficient, as if you wanna find name "john" you can only press J and press down to look for that name. i expect we can press J then O then H to limit down the names but it can't. so i suggest for user who need or have lots of contact list better don't buy this phone.
2.there are limits for your sms space, maybe 200? if i'm not wrong. it's not like other mobile which it can save the sms to the memory card, but this one is save on the phone itself. therefore it's not recomended for you who need to use lots of sms.
overall this W800 is a good phone except the 2 things i mentioned above, hopefully next time sony can think better about that as those 2 things are very crucial for a user like me. now i'm thinking to get a new phone.

hello ppl!i have my w800 for 2 weeks and it's great no regrets.the problem is that when I download clips in the pc and transform from 3gp to avi with Imtoo encoder I can see just about helf from the clip and after that it stops the image and I only hear the sound, can anyoane pls help me with this?????????? if U can help pls e-mail me or post here. thank you

search Imtoo encoder on download.com or google "mp3 converter". theres a couple out there.

defnitly get the w800i. i personally think that the color is more attractive. if u like listening to mp3 then, there u go, w800. it has more walkman functionality for ease of use. technically the w800 has more features than the k750.

Hi its me again. I got some problem viewing videos on my phone. I hav used Imtoo 3gp converter to convert my mpeg/dat files to 3gp. But the quality is poor n also video strucks in some intervals. I hav tried many setting but.... I know the processor cannot handle but as i heard from others that good quality video can be seen with smaller file size. i just need to know one thing everytime i turn my bluetooth on it tells me command error but bluetooth still works just want to know why does it come up with command error

Hi,
Donno where u can get a charger,but just search with the local SE dealers.To get the memory card out,open the flap and just give it a gentle push,it'll come out.Hope i was helpful.Bye
