I am interested in buying a new phone. I have read a review of this phone and it said that this phone has a slight shutter lag with the camera. The photo is taken slightly after the shutter sound. Can someone please tell me whether it is bad or is it barely noticable?

It's one of the best phones on market right now.U have a 2 megapixel camera, which during the day takes good quality pictures (during night regardless if u use the flash, the pictures are pixalate).U have a fully functional MP3-Player with equilazer which can be customise.The quality of sound is almost the same with I-pod's.W800i is not a smartphone and doesn't has an operating system.This make the phone faster in menu.U can downloaded Opera Mini Browser and if u have an Internet GPRS connection u can see pages like on a smartphone.The battery lifetime is good: 5 days-one hour of music/day and 1 hour of calls in 5 days. Good work for the manufacture!

i currently have the 6230 2 and thinking of upgrading into the w800.. i'm thinking about getting the phone fo christmas.. i'm not too keen about the colour of the phone but hoping there will be another colour t choose from.. otherwise im fine..

iv just upgraded from the s700i to the w800i i think its a great phone but i hate the joystick, wish i waited 4 the w900i that looks excellent!

As posted already, my usage is something like 2 hrs of calls in 3 days, would use calendar/reminders, listen to radio for couple of hours, occasionally listen to downloaded mp3 song, use camera and transfer photos to pc. (i use a sony handycam already).
My previous mobiles include: Nokia 1100, Motorola E398, Samsung R220, Samsung X460 clam now. I also used Siemens C35i.
Almost with all the sets I have had one or other problems.
For my usage, applications and battery life are important.
One of my friend had SE T610 model and had terrible time with that. Finally changed to Motorola.
I intend to keep the mobile for atleast another year.
Hope you got my concerns. Will this phone address my requirements?

-you can turn off the shutter sound by turning the phone to silent
-also, you zoom pics by turning the pics horizontal and pressing the zoom button

this is a great phone. donot forget if you own a w800 you will have a good camera,mass storage,mp3 player with you any were.

is it possible to use a wifi (like a Option GlobeTrotter Combo EDGE Card) and connect it to the sony ericsson phone and then be able to use wifi hotspot??

I was a huge nokia fan myself. But when SE came into place I sadly had to accept the truth, SE is much better technology than nokia is. W/this phone, you'll get great voice call quality, great radio, and if u convert mp3 to mp4, u'll even take more advantage on the included 512 mb memory stick. I myself have around 30 videos for more than 5 mins each, some for half hour, around fife hundred and something pics which are great quality (aprox 4 hundred n something kb each) 60 mp4's, lots of java games, and i still have 202 mb free space on my memory stick!
Plus u'll get the mega bass earphones which give a much better sound quality to every song, and this is a hands free device as well for your voice calls. u'll get instalation disk which includes adobe photoshop, disc 2 phone software and something else i don't remember quite well... jejeje u get the memory stick adaptator, usb cable from ur phone to computer, and another cable which you can connect ur phone to any sound device to start the party!
other questions email me, and i can tell u much more good things SE has, these are just the basics....
To chris:
PHone comes algong w/512Mb memory stick, u can uprgrade it though to 1 gb, 2, or even 4 as i previously read.

can someone help me out? i saw on this chinese site that this phone gives a 1 gb mem card but it says here only 512mb why is that?

awesome site. It contains the most applications and games that i have seen so far online. check it out. it also has files downloadable for other phones like the nokia 6682, etc

the color, IMO, is really brilliant. the orange strip is somewhat goldish (dark goldish) its NOT like those that u see on street constructions--ie. cones, road signs, etc. the white front and back color is a creamish white color. Somewhat dirty white.. its not like one of those white colors that gets dirtied easily. The two colors (white and orange) compliments each other making the phone really eye catching and unique (compared to the generic silver or black phones)

hey steven!!!!! S.E W800 is a vr vr gd walkman handphone... it ok... but the prize kinda expensive... so buy S.E W550 cheaper... W800 can download software? tq... send to skyangle_91@hotmail.com

I would like to ask a ? What is the actual phone sound quality like? I currenlty have a nokia 6230 and looking to upgrade but I have to have a loud phone being hard of hearing.. Please can someone tell me is it loud and clear?

Hey does anybody know about how to improve the video quality on my phone? I've tried using both Xilisoft and ImTOO as 3GP (video codec h263, size 176x144, audio codec amr_nb) and MP4 (video codec mpeg4, size 176x144, audio codec mpeg4aac) both come out very blocky although the sound quality is ok and most importantly without any of those pauses. But I was wondering if there was another format that I should try or if there was another program, am I doing anything wrong? Thanks much! By the way does anybody know where to download more themes?
