Since 1996 I've been with Nokia, tried other phones on and off but always chucked them in the bin and grabbed a Nokia again. I'll try this Sony 800 - for the COVIENENCE of having a decent mp3 and camera with me at all times. Its the only reason I'd go from Nokia.

@w800supporter: I was obviouly talking about a decent digital photo camera, which of course has all the advantages you mentioned. Someone here suggested that I'm jealous because I can't afford this phone. It's the other way around pal, people who value their phone's camera so much can probably not afford to buy a real camera. And when you seriously discuss the quality, or the lack of it I should say, of your phone's camera, you obviously don't know the first thing about photography. I understand that a phone like this is nice for really quick snapshots, but come on, my Nokia 6230 does that too. No flame intended, the 6230 is an example of an old-fashioned phone :) Let's this drop the subject. I just wouldn't buy a phone just because of its camera.

i love it. i work for o2 and these fones are selling like hot cakes!!!! o2 are the best. it was only on for £29.99 for the first 3 days for promotional purposes only!!!! this fone is worth every penny at £79.99

Miguel dude! come on we use handphones to take photo cuz we do not need to have a very very clear picture! anyway w800 produce quality pics.. and y the heck would u wanna bring a camera around when u can take a handphone with camera which is so much smaller and lighter than a normal camera.. & btw for me i use HP's camera to take photos mostly for memory.. u know wat i mean.. & we can also transfer the photos from the HP to the computer ez and fast, we do not even need to go to a photo shop to get a 5r or 8r photo.. we can print out fast and ez , we do not need to wait for afew days for afew photos too.. got it?

yes berzerky, I agree with you, miguel don't understand that the digital camera is not something i carry with me most of the time, and no matter how good is the quality of the picture, if the picture is NOT in the right time!

Are o2 for real ? I was going to order this phone from o2 online today. However the price has been increased by £50 overnight ! Yesterday it was £29.99 and somehow today it is now £79.99 ! No phone's worth that much on contract !

I dun really care what other people like "Some" said.Perhaps he is a "pro photographer", thus hates camera phones, or simply a jealous poor man/woman whom can't afford this phone.
I love this phone from the minute I purchase it.Not just because of the 2MP camera, buyt because of the rich features it has. All in one mobile phone.Rich quality MP3 sound,rich animation,great memory stick support capabilities...etc..dun you W800/K750 users agree with that?

I don't understand you people. A phone is for calling. Everybody LOVES this phone because it has a 2 MP camera. If you want to make pictures, don't be so cheap and get a real DECENT camera and stop putting phones down because you think the camera sucks. If you love a phone's camera so much, you're obviously no real photographer.

I just saw news that this phone will be coming out here in the U.S. before August ends, and it looks that they will be selling it unlocked over here....
I like this phone so I might get it when it comes out, but im not so sure of the price, so for the people from the UK, how much did you pay for it, can you put it in U.S. money.

I got a K750i the a week ago and returned it and got a w800i on friday (the day it came out) and i have to say its bar far the best phone ive ever have had! sexy colour, brill camera and a fab MP3!!
5*****'s definately recommended!!!

I'm getting my W800 this saterday and i'm gone love it! It's the best phone out at the moment! It even beats the Samsung D600 and bye the way I hate the Samsung D500 that's the most peace of crap ever build by Samsung you pay 400€ for nothing Peace Out ! ! !

I know of new O2 customers who are joining to get this phone, and have been guaranteed delivery this week - so it makes a bit of a mockery of the assurance that I had last week that existing customers take priority.
I think this is pretty shabby - but like I say, you can get the phone as an upgrade through O2 stores. If anyone has emailed me for more info following my earlier post, I'll reply on Monday evening.

The phone has a tourch on it which is used as the flash, no need to go and buy an external one.
I got my 8800 the day it came out and i have no complaints about it. A sexy phone that can do everything. Its the little things that make this phone so good. For example when you receive or send a text it will show a photo of the person you sent it to. I think that was a nice touch.

Phil - don't worry - I had all those different stories as well.
You CAN get the phone as an upgrade now from O2 stores, even if you're an O2 online customer. I got mine on Saturday.

wanted to order it as a upgrade from O2 but
they have given me so many bloody stories
about W800 sayin its not out yet, they havent got a price etc, yet it is on their
website as large as life!
they told me to call back end of oct!
spoke to about 5 different people and they all told me a diff storey!
02 is absolutly f'in crap!

HAIL SONY ERICSSON! lol dah i tell u all 1 thing tho the colour is indeed abit striking but who cares man! 90% of the time u put ur phone in ur pocket unless u wanna use the camera and btw even if u listen to mp3 u still put inside the pocket dun tell me u hold it on ur hands do u? anyway to me the design is not bad i saw the pics provided by this web look at it maybe it will change ur think abit =] ty for attention all and lets pray 34gig memory card come out soon hehe :D
