Is the software/firmware the same as K750? Any differences other than flight mode and the mem card supplied?

Where is it available in Canada. Anybody know?
As well plemix.com has the phone listed @ 479 USD without contract. This is the lowest price I have found online. Is this a reputable dealer?

Just played around with this phone the other day. It costs $630 CND with no contract and is out here in Canada.
Very nice phone. Light and easy to hold in your hands. Great MP3 and Camera. Was just not too crazy about the OS. It actually froze on us when the sales rep. was showing me some of the features. So i hope this is not a random thing with this phone.
I was actually going to buy the phone but after the OS froze on me i just decided to wait and see some more reviews and user comments of this phone before i make up my mind.
Never the less, this is a very nice phone.

Got the Sony Ericsson W800i for a few days now on O2 monthly contract for £79.99 and a tariff of £20 a month..
The phone is quite good in many aspects as the u put mp3 music and listen on the go and put them as ringtones, msg alerts and alarms as even (or you could even use the radio!)..
The w800i is easy to use and very easy to transfer files from phone to computer and vice versa, using the USB cable...
The phone is light and strikeingly white and contains easy to use applications. Friendly touchs like a photo of the person callin/txtin u..
The picture quality is quite good at 2MP and at a big size (1632 by 1232 .. summat like that). But the video quality is similar to that of the S700 which is a shame..
Another few bad points are that battery does seem to drain quite quickly when you are listenin to music and using the phone applications at the same time (7hrs approx)but the battery somehow "self-charges" and regains some energy back.. probably due to overuse of the walkman player if constantly used..
Not only that.. but the w800 has frozen on me twice when loading some pictures.. took five minutes for it to swtich the phone off and restart after frantic panics... lol..
However, i've got to say that the w800i has got to be one of the most best fones on the market, as the good points do excel the bad points..
Although similar to the k750i and still undecided to get which one.. you should get the w8ooi if you are a music lover.. and who isnt?
Any queries just email me..

Our W800 managed a wee bit over 10.5 hours of talk time in our battery test, outdoing the K750 we tested by over 45 minutes. I can't say if there have been optimizations made to the W800 that were not present in our early firmware K750, but it is certainly possible. It could just have to do with atmospheric differences at the time, or a simple variation in the batteries. But needless to say, over 10 hours of talk time is a very, very good score. Sony Ericsson claims that the W800 can play music for up to 30 hours with the phone turned off, or 15 hours with it on. I see no reason to disbelieve that based on the phone's talk time performance.

Sony Ericsson introduced its W800i special edition [ 20:20 ]
Author: Coperman Pavel Source: MML Translation by: Anja Rytchkova
At the electronics markets of Hong Kong appeared a peculiar new product released by Sony Ericsson together with Touch. The Europeans might get disappointed, as the European version of the W800 doesn’t have a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo card and Musician SRC 100 remote control.
There is no info on the price of the SE W800i package. Naturally you have to pay extra money for 1 GB flash card and the remote control, which you can hardly buy separately. The Musician SRC 100 weighs 18 g and measures 51x18x11.7 mm.

bigem !Must be a good company you work for if you can arrange an interview for your mate to work for them !!! Who said I was crying bout the price ? I was just saying it's a rip off when some places are giving them away for free. Your probably the kind of sad person that would remortgage your house to get this phone even if you knew you could get it for nothing in a couple of weeks time !!

message for andy........
whats the point of crying over the price of a phone. its not like you have to remortgage your house to get the phone.
your the kind of person who buys a big car because you think its cool but you cant afford to run it!!!!!!!
look at vodafone, theyre charging daft prices for the phone. orange will be charging a bomb for the w800i. i know because my friend works for them. he says theyre a cowboy company and im arranging an interview for him at o2.

If a phone is only on promotion for a period of time , then usually it's advertised as to sell more. Why sell the phone at a cheap price without telling anyone it's only for a limited period ? Think I'll wait and get mine on Orange.

wats the point of having an expensive camera when you can get all in one phone. Unless you're a photographer professionaly.Like some of them said.Sometime good scenery or scene aren't there when you carry a camera.Such a convenient to have a camera phone at such time much needed to be captured pictures( i.e incident happen that need pictures to be witness, happen to walk into a path of a famous actress/actor,moment of your GF or children make a funny faces or emotional looks)these things dun come intentionally.
Well anyway eveyone have their own opinion.
As for the price of a camera? If I can buy W800i At $988 retail price what is a 7MP camera which cost $1k here.Anyway i do own a camera myself FYI.
Just wanna say thanks to SonyEricsson for this great phone.Your merger with Sony was a very2 good move indeed!!!
