sorry meant to say in previous post, i was going to choose between this and the nokia n91 but went and had a look and my god how big and cheap looking is the n91. I've waited for months to see it and was immediately dissapointed sure great features great sound quality but it's bloody huge, cheap and tacky looking, symbian o/s, it has the smallest keypad in the universe and most important of all it's way overpriced.
Stick to sony ericsson people.

got my w810i a couple of days ago and got myself a 2gb card from ebay for £32 yes £32 arrived two days after payment, first class service.
my only concern so far is the battery life seems to go down pretty quickly in comparison to my w800, but i'll see what it's like after a few charges. Apart from that i'm pretty pleased just going to get it de branded and i'll be happy.

Can you play mpg videos on the w810i?
Can you also play videos from the web - like through windows media player or realplayer?

@Lee-i think W810 plays quicktime movie, anyone can confirm this?
I felt it myself the 810, it is very nice, camera is very clear, it's screen is very clear, you can't see the square pixels which observed in some other phone. But i'm worry of one thing....
Nokia phones have been tagged as lasting phones and they hardly spoil even drop on the floor many times.
Is 810 comparable to Nokia phones in terms of the shock "resistivity"?

Does anyone know how the phone can use windows media player or real player?
Was using web and walk but when trying to access videos on-line says it cannot do it.
Any ideas???

had the phone about a week now, really impressed with the sound quality it's excellent. takes really sharp pictures too compared to nokia n70.so easy to use. always thought i would stick to nokia's but this phone changed my mind.

@kvin - No it does not have a lens cover
@Don - The battery life is excellent. Several days even with normal use.
@Navneeth - the operator logo is just text. I think you are refering to the wallpaper iin which case simply upload the image to the phone and select it.
@James - Check that you have the backlight set to turn off.

Okay, so I bought this phone and the battery life seems really short and the backlight never goes off when on a call just dims. Seems odd to me, but that is the way sony ericsson states the backlight is to work on a call. I dunno if anyone else with this phone could confirm this. But to me battery life is very short.

Hi fickle,
All I can say about the 2mp camera on the w810 (and the same camera on my K750i) is that they're awesome. I've tried several other phones camera's and none have matched the 2mp auto focus camera of the w810/k750. The macro mode is breathtaking.
