Amen sony. I guess it just boils down to brand loyalty. Nokia has dominated the market so long that people still perceive their phones to be the best. Those that have been using nokia for so long would have a hard time switching due to the difference in the interface. But to actually say that 3250 is better than w810i even if professionals and experienced users say otherwise is pure baloney. I have yet to see a review website that says 3250 is better than w810i and I dont expect we'll be seeing one.

i have seen many nokias before but i cant believe why those blind nokia fans persist to see their nokia mobiles the best one even though theyre hiding the real fact that still nokia has big weaknesses, i dont mean SEs are the best or etc. but such companies made their products in the way better in quality then next is the features (the Samsung)for the people saying nokia 3250 is way better than W810i many popular and respected websites have proven W810 beats 3250 in such quality (sound, picture etc.) and i tested it myself.

The W810 does not use a joystick. It uses dpad so im sure u wont encounter problems with it.

there is a new firmware update you can buy for $12 (you have to flash your phone) on http://www.davinciteam.com/. the problem is mainly with cingular users, though i'm on tmobile and sometimes experience this problem.

Hi folks! Am about to decide between Nokia 3250 and SE W810. I am getting tilted towards SE but i am in doubt abt the joysticks of SE phones. have seen some models in which it goes loose in 6 months. What's the story abt W810?

                  Carbonize:
I've been observing the phone and the blinking light problem happens about 30% of the time. I just turn on the light and wait for a few seconds, then it starts blinking (whether its in "on for 1 minute" or "on"). Same when using it w/ camera. It doesnt happen often though. Try turning on the light and if it doesnt blink, turn it off then turn it on again. Another way to make it blink is on camera mode, turn the light on then switch photo-video back n forth, after a while it will start blinking. I approached our local service center and they told me that they will observe it for a couple of days. Im having a dilemma as to surrendering it or retaining it as the bug is not so big a deal anyways. The over the air sw upgrade is not yet available in our area.

Another thing I noticed is when u change themes, the shortcut buttons revert to the default settings.

Aside from these minor bugs, Im very happy w/ my phone and music is loud and clear. The unit looks classy, unlike the 3250 which looks like a brick.

Just read a review on the NOKIA N91 - it seems that you cannot even turn it up past 6-7 on the volume control dial as its incredibly loud, no chance of that with the W810i is there? at max volume its just not loud enuff!
                    thoughts?

I have this phone for a month now and my only complaint is the phone volume is not as loud as it used to be, even at max volume its hard to hear. The black casing is great, I dropped it and the scratches are hardly visible.

The phone uses the handsfree cable as the aerial for the radio so you need to have the headset plugged in to use the radio. You can turn on the speaker though so you don't have to listen through the headset.

If you mean the sliding cover over the lens then the answer is no.

Looks like viperkids been crying in the Nokia forums.

The Nokia 3250 uses the Symbian OS, the only phone OS that actually can get infected with a virus. The Nokia 3250 is excessively chunky and doesn't fit nicely in the hand. The Nokia 3250 camera does not have flash nor auto focus. The Nokia 3250 is only triband not quad band. Nokia 3250 radio does not have RDS. Last, but no least, the Nokia 3250 states a battery life of 245 hours standby, 3 hours talk time compared with the W810's 350 hours standby and 8 hours talk time.

Oh and the main reason the Nokia 3250 seems to have no bugs (according to you anyway) is that it's an old OS. The core of which was not written by Nokia.

Arj you have the same software on your phone as on mine and I have not experienced any problems which to me indicates it's the branding and not the software. Can you tell me how to simulate the flashing? What do you do to make it happen?

                                    to orange:

im not talking about the earphones i know the SE earphones are better but seriously who cares about that when the headset has a universal jack? anybody can put any headphones (with a 3.5 mm plug) they want in the phone the same way my brother uses his sennheiser px200, the sound quality is perfect and much better than the headphones that comes standard with the nokia 3250 and the SE W810, and yes i do know that you can also use third-party headphones with the SE but because the original headphones that come with the 3250 arent as good as the SE W810 doesnt make the SE a better phone.

To Ali: Take a look at the 3250's hedphones and tell us if they aren't a cheaper version of W800i's and W810i's headphones. Nokia sucks...they steal Sony Ericsson's ideeas.
