To say:
I had the Nokia 6230 and its a 24 channel speaker and it sounds horrible compared to this W810i. Comparing the 2, the nokia sounded like a mono speaker and even after tunning the equalizer, it didnt help at all.
This W810i speaker is just quite impressive and sounds like true stereo sound.
My brother has the nokia 6270 with dual stereo speakers at 64 channels and he will be comming over for dinner tomorrow and i will compare the 2 and see how they come out.

And for andrew:
I purchased the 8 gig cause some moran said that this phone will see the 8 gigs and be able to use it. Well he was wrong cause it only saw 4. Anyways, its not a waste of money cause i threw it onto my sony digital camera and it was the 8 gigs. And it allows me 96 minutes of record time on an empty stick.

Why this one did only Polyphonic (40 channels) but the sound more beautiful than other like Nokia products build with Polyphonic (64 channels)?
Why this one not upgrade to Polyphonic (64 channels)?

Thing is the UK market is a very agressive market, it's very fluid and the offers change all the time, to loose a customer over stock of a fone is not a good thing for us and some thign we try to avoid.

The US market is very different, the avarage subscription over this is some where in the region of $50 + bracket, over in the uk the battle ground is in the £25 to £35 region.

It's hard to compare the uk market to the us one, it's like apples and oranges tbh...

Them links go no where but back to the user opinions.....

I am still yet to see a 8gb card apear in the uk, they might be out else where but the largest is 4gb in the uk, and you admit the 8gb card is seen as 4gb, kinda a waste don't you think......

and whats does the manufacture date of the battery cover have to do with this ?

A lot of the parts for the K750/W800 are the same and one of them being the battery cover, the same is for the W810i.

Launch dates are upto the manufacture to decide and different for each region, this is how it's been done it the past and how it will continue to be done, after all they make the dam things in the first place.

Adam, have you phoned your customer service (O2 Online iirc) and checked to see if the handset has been dispatched ?, if not then it's prolly out of stock and it just needs the order rsetting from the 10th.

          To Drew:
I understand your point that people out there are ignorant and and impatient. But the bottom line is this, if you dont have the phone, you dont have it. Its that simple. Let them call and u tell them that you have no word from either sony or your dealer of when new phones will arive. If they dont like it, go somewhere else. You are obvioulsy not the only place selling this phone.
I live here in the united states and i had to get my phone from south america. And south america had to get their phone from sony direct.

            Hey Drew:
Im the guy that has the 8gb pro duo. I do have it.

            http://www.memorystick.com/en/events/ces2006/exhibit.html

            http://mediapcs.engadget.com/2006/01/06/sonys-memory-stick-pro-duo-pushing-8gb-in-2006/

Just like sony said that this phone would not be available until 2nd quarter.. oh fecking please. That was just the "official" release date for the phone.
The battery cover on my phone was made in mid November 05. How do i know this, well the ingraving on the back of the battery cover. It has a circle with 1-12 and an arrow in the center and two numbers on the arrow.
The arrow points in the middle of 11 and 12 which means mid nov and the 05 on the arrow indicates 2005. This phone was planned and made well b4 2006.
And some phone's were released to specific dealers around the world and i happen to know a place in south america that recieved over 50 phones from Sony direct at the beginning of Feb. I purchased this phone from them for $350 shipped on the 2nd week of feb.
As far as the 8gb stick is concerned. Its out already and i got it from the same place that i purchased my phone. I paid $600 for this memory stick.
The phone does not see the entire 8 gigs. It only reads up to 4 gigs. So this stick went into my sony digital camera which does see the 8 gigs.
Just because you dont have this memory stick or dont think its out, does not mean its not out there.
btw, Have you seen a million dollars in cash..??

              "Poor Business"
thing is m8, people are impaintent sods when it comes to phones, they feel it's there god given right to have this phone or that phone....

Now it would be commen sense to slap on the website call for availability, how ever we are back to the chestnut of stock levels and when we are going to get more in.
Like today, check stock report, W810i, out of stock till the 10/04/2006, checked 15 mins later and it was put to the 11/04/2006.... checked before i left work at 9 this evening and it was put to the 10/04/2006, so even during the normal working day the stock reports can change, if you think it anoys you, how do you think we feel being on the brunt end of it ?

                Hey Andrew:
Maybe if you guys were smarter than the rest you would get on your website and change the W810i status to "call for availability". This way people have to call to see if you have any. If u do, you sell it to them, if u dont, well then they must wait.
                Its that simple.

                  2nd Part

To thoese that have got this through a retail outlet and moaned that phone sales didn't have this, this is allways the case, retail stores will have stock before the phone upgs do.

No some of you have asked question about the spec of this phone.....erm guys are you fecking blind, it states in the specs sheet for this what it can and carn't do, yet you ask "does it have a camara".... jesus and you wonder why we get naffed off at the customers.

To the person that asked can it be charged from the usb port, yes it can. This has been a feature of SE since the K750i handset was launched last year.

To the person that said they have a 8gb mem stick in this phone.... don't talk bs m8, sandisk have not even made a card bigger then 4gb yet.

This phone will support upto 4gb where as the W800i is upto 2gb "offically", however with every thing there are some people that do have 4gb cards working in the W800i which leeds me to think this might be down to the firmware that is loaded onto the phones and whether you format the card with a card reader or using the phones format tool (which iirc doesn't format it correctly)

If you have any questions that can not be answerwed by either ready the spec sheet or the user manual, ask away and i'll try to help.

Dude.... wtf is wrong with you. Why do you need to lock info into your phone..??
Who are you letting into your phone that is erasing your stuff..??
And by the way there is such a thing called a sim lock and phone lock to where you need a code to get into the phone. Maybe if you spent less time complaining about ignorant stuff like info locks and reading more you would know this.
Maybe if you would stop lending your phone out to people you wouldnt have this problem.

Right lads for thoese moaning at O2, stop it, do you work for us? no, didn't think so.

The reason the launch got put back is simple, the phone had bugs and we had to do more testing of it to make sure it worked from the get go.

Stock levels are out of our hands, it is up to SE to deliever enuff to supply us.

We had 800 on the 31/03/2006 and they sold out in 2 hrs, we have been told that 300 out of the 2nd weeks allounce is allready sold leaving us with not enuff, this will continue till SE can provide enuff to forfill the demand for this handset

Some one pointed out thats theres two sides to the order system and this is correct, theres the "online" order form that allows it to take pre-orders and the normal phone us up and upg side which doesn't allow us to make a order for a handset not even listed on our side of the shop, it however does allow us to place back orders some times when we know we are getting new stock in soon otherwise we can not even place a back order.
When ever we have a launch of a new handset i will allways state that the launch date is subject to change, it should be normal practice but isn't, mainly because we get fed upto the back teeth of reapting the same info over and over again.

To convert that one sentence that you wrote into something that makes more sense... maybe i can explain it better from my point of view...
Cingular runs on 850 and 1900. The 850 band is used to get service inside bldgs and the 1900 is used outside..?? And something else about old at&t towers that you really didnt explain.

this is my lAST comment(i think...lol), this is really for Sony Ericsson.....when will you'll start making these great phones with LOCKING FEATURES for APPLICATIONS eg.phonebook, messages, call records etc. Its a real pity to have these great phones and not be able to LOCK them from INTRUDERS going into your private stuff unless you let them. i dont know if anyone else agree's but this is really becoming a problem now....PLZZZZ Sony Ericsson...start making products that ppl can lock other ppl out of them...thanx again!!

P.S. this might be one of you'll disadvantage/problem for losing sale on your phones!!!

the 1900 is a band that works with cingulars network to get you reception in the u.s we work off of 850/1900 850 is what gets you reception in buildings and uses the old at&t digital signal from the towers. AND NO we do not currently have the phone.

The reason why i dont post the other places that sell this phone is cause people on this forum are flat out lazy. They dont read specs, they dont read se website. They rather be lazy and ask the question in hope's that someone will give them an answer. My point of view is this, i looked for over 2 hours to find this phone and i did. I found a place that had been selling this phone since the beginning of Feb. If i had to look for that long, you guys will to. Im not gonna give some of u lazy people the benefit of the doubt. You want it that bad, search for it.
IF they wana find out something about the phone, then they need to read specs and stop wasting my and others time. Im tired or reading worthless posts on this forum. Im here to try and help people out with the bugs that all of us are encountering. All of mine have been solved so far and i even got the re-occuring alarm to work. Dont know how, but it amazingly started to work.
And i only experienced 2 dropped calls back to back, thats it. Since then, i have not had any drop.
                                  Im done for now

The best seller on ebay that has this phone that i have found is wireless experts. They have 33000+ positive feedback and have 99.9% positive rating. They also have had buy safe ( an ebay store inspector) review their store, and passed the test. Also, my favorite feature about them is that they have a connection with a company that if you pay around $30 will give you a 3 year insurance policy. Not too shabby.

I have heard nothing about bugs on this phone. I have only heard of one and from the reviews ive read its a one person occurance. On James's phone his phone wont allow him to use the recurring alarm. Thats it.
