To Winston:
This phone is only worth it if you are an american phone user. The added 850 band is the most used of the quad-band. This improves reception immensly. However, if you do have the w800, and the reception is fine in your area i would agree that there is absolutly no reason to upgrade to the w810.

For anyone asking about where to get this phone. There is, as for this moment, only one place to get this phone. Ebay. Thats it. The price with 3 year insurance, shipping, etc. is $500. That is the total price. Not too bad and there are some very reliable sellers on ebay. One i found has 30000+ positive feedback (99.9%). Trust me when i say that ebay is the only place that the w810i or w810c is available. Ive looked for hours for another place. None exists.

can anyone tell me what is the defference between 40 channels and 72 channels for the phone , does this has a relation with the voice I mean the loudness of the voice !! waiting your answer

pleeeeease I'm waiting an answer about the sound of this phone , if you compare it with se k700 i , which is louder , is it like w550 or not , which one is better , does it has walkman cable , does it really works for 30 hours when the phone is turnoff , I need to know about the sound is it loud enough or not ! please answer me quickly

Let me say this one more time for u ignoramous people that keep complaining about the price of this phone. Its more expensive for several reasons and you just dont have the common sense to even think about it..
Its new, it is a different design, they added gsm 850. As the phone gets older and the w830 comes out, the price on this one will drop.
C'mon people use your frigin common sense on this one, how do u get thru life asking these questions.
And for u other people, read the specs on the sony site b4 asking, u might find your answers there.
And to James, i finally got the video to play without freezing. I dont know what happened, but i just converted the avi to mp4 again and it worked this time. I now have about 5 movies on my phone and all play perfectly.
Now if i could just get this re-occuring alarm to work, id be happy.
If anyone has any good q's about this phone that are not answered in the specs, feel free to ask. Ive had this phone since Feb and i know a lot about it.

dude.. person telling us to verify the radio.. i guess there are idiots.. you have to have a handset enable for you to use it... this phone highly recommended for cingular users. bcuz of the gsm850, most cingular towers are running 850 still.. so again this phone is great

thanks james getting one step closer. how do i get my mp3 files on my memory stick to the memorystick folder directory. also when i play the nwalkman it only play two songs at a time and stop. then i have to select another song. how do i get it to play all the songs continuously. i put playmode as shuffle as well as loop but it doesnt work. thanks

about 200$ more for just black color case and edge (which i dont use much) and for less internal memory and coverless lense comparing to w800
is it really worth for?

Thanks for all those tips James! I'm looking forward to be a proud owner of this phone, so i've copied all those tips we've kindly posted :o) You never know they might come in handy when i get the phone...hopefully soon, as i'm getting cranky lol. One thing which i'm curious, as the earlier person mentioned...does it have an FM radio or not?

i'm not exactly sure which areas allow the shutter mute option, i ordered my phone from plemix.com, which came from hong kong, and i can set the phone to silent mode and it mutes the camera shutter sound, this was also true on my k750 which i ordered online..
to w810i,
yes my fps is usually about 15fps with 176 x 120 resolution on my music videos, and i downloaded them already ready to play on this phone..
and i never had a freeze with my mp3 ringtones, that's really weird, maybe the master reset could fix that little glitch or a firmware upgrade..
to mark,
i have the sandisk MobileMate MS+ usb 2.0 compliant memory stick pro, duo, and pro duo card reader which is extremely fast when working with a usb 2.0 connection.. got it for about 10 bucks from my local best buy..

try using the master reset option in the settings menu and see if that helps.. sometimes it does..

your mp3 files on your memory stick must be in the memory stick drive\mp3 folder directory in order for the phone to find your files..
to big dawg and SE rules,
yeah this phone has the walkman flight mode option at startup (if turned on in the settings menu) which lets you use the walkman only, with the phone turned off

i understand what you mean, yeah you might have to add another contact or list another number under 'others' or the other options.. would be a nice option for sony ericssons

try deleting them! some files cannot be deleted but most of the extra ones can!

you can load as many mp3s as you can!

yeah i called sony about a firmware upgrade too and they don't have an answer yet, they just tell me to wait a little bit until the phone is more widely released
can't wait till that firmware upgrade is released!
