Jeff- in the next 8 weeks

John- the w900/ n70/ qtek9100 / d820 . . . the list goes on forever. you have to decide what bundle you are looking for, and then you need to look at all phones that fall under that group. then you need to see wwhich one works best for you. and you should not say that you are not looking for a specific bundle, bcos having no criteria slash idea what you are looking for, means that you are looking for the perfect phone/ a perfect phone. a phone never exists and will never exist so long as we all have our individual opinions.

nadeem- the mp3 player that is on/ used in the phone is very similar to that of a walkman. the sound quality is superb and will definitely sound better on a walkman phone than the k750. the software makes it better rather than the hardware

Jake- if you want 3G and video calls get the w900. if you want small yet sophisticated and advanced get the w810 or w800. if you have time and patience of the w800 and w810 i would suggest you wait for the latter, becuse it is the same phone, JUST better.

storm- not all the glitches can be solved, otherwise it would be perfect. BUT you can be assusred that all the major problems have been dealt with. EDGE is available 850 MHZ in the US regions. in UK it would have a different frequency and therefore would work in the UK region.

Jeff- if you want a cheap phone with many features look towards the w800/810.

w600 is for those who only need 128MB of mem. on the phone with mp3+1.3 mp camera. w800/810 for people who need large ext. mem. that can be easily transfered+2mp camera. w900 is for higher spenders who need 3g high int mem+features+high end 2mp camera+video.

Aroon- there is nolens cover(the buldge will protect it from damager) but that is not deal. the phone has EDGE technology which is like 3g. but on this phone there is no secondary video call camera so the EDGE is used only for OTA data trasmissions.

adam- one correction there, the screens are infact the same size

To all- evryone has their right to their own opinions, so you should not slander any phone if you do not like it yourself, bcos someone else might want to buy it themselves but now they base their phone purchasing decisions of the thoughts that come out of your brain.

121- yes they do. networks that support GPRS will be and are converting their GPRS receptors into dual-receptors that can also act as EDGE receptors. (since EDGE is so similar to GPRS in how it works) by the middle of the year most of the networks would have done this

I was at the BBC TV Centre in White City for Apple's Macworld Keynote, representing Fonebox.com. Although there for any phone related Apple announcements, I just happened to bump into a chap from Sony Ericsson, who was holding a production W810 in his hand - which is why I noticed him in the first place! He let me play with it and it is absolutely georgous. Very compact and comfortable, and the controls are excellent. But other than the sexy black and orange finish, what blew me away was the Flash based user interface skin he had running on it. Made the phone menus more like those in the movie representation of how gadgets work. But anyway, the phone feels solid. Re the lack of lens cover, I think the act of putting a phone in the pocket cleans the lens, while covers can sometimes (as per my own nice SE V600i) collect dust inside the cover. The W810 lens is recessed anyway. I didn't try any of the phones other features. Ironically, seeing the W810 was more exciting than most of what Apple had to show, although the iWeb application, iPod FM receiver/remote and magnetic power connector on the poorly named 'MacBook Pro' were all examples of excellence in design. Now, combine an iPod and a W810 in a slider form factor and life would be almost complete...

It has bigger screen than k750i and w800i and better keypad layout, its nice to see absent of the joy stick and the lens cover which opens accidently . overall excellent design.

I am thinking about buying a new phone because my other motorola has been giving me problems and i was looking at the w810, the w800,the w600, and the w900. I was trying to find out more and more information about them on their websites but it wasn't as easy navigating through the sites as i had thought. So i'm kinda stuck and just need a nice, cool everyday phone with a lot of features in it. I don't know which direction to go.

If what you say is true then the 810 would be the 800 the flaws & glitches ironed out. No?

Also still need to know is EDGE applicable t UK?

I aint gon buy no fone for just any price buddy. If its got exactly the same features, i wouldnt buy it, obviously the lens polarity is the same, the screen resolution's the same, the memory stick in the sales pack is the same, W810's got EDGE, W900's got UMTS. When a model enters the market, its better not to buy it immediately, the flaws & glitches are ironed out in the subsequent models that are released, so its better to wait a while.

Im decidin which one to go for, the W800 is excellent, but im confused between W800 & W900. Can somebody enter the features of the fone in of their posts, i mean i do know what they are, but again, W900 is a lil too big, u think its a good idea waitin for the W810, cos im savin to buy this fone & n am sure this fone is goin to be expensive, u think it'll cost the same as the W800 or the W900? I mean somebody help me decide which one to go for out of the 3...W800, W900 or W810. Does the W810 have flight mode?

FabC- Arch was not refering to the w810. he was refering to the mystery phone( look at the link on his previous post)

Terry TB- if you want UMTS get the w900. this phone is ust a market filler used to create more awareness, range dynamics and profit

zoukclub- lets just say that everyone has their own opinion. some like the front of this phone over the w800. so do i. but i will always like the back of the w800.

storm- i have a few short things to say. 1 wait for the w810. then go to the shop ask them if you can see the phones. then ask yourself which one you would rather have(exterior) bcos on the inside they are practicaly IDENTICAL

I'm in the UK. Is there any point waiting for this phone to be released or just go for the W800 considering the addition EDGE,quad etc. is (AFAIK) NA specific.
