i bought tis phone 2days ago, is was a g8 phone.Da sound quality was g8.I like tis phone. But y i can't use the zoom features when i using camera? but VGA can. Can anybody tell me hw 2 do it?

this type of board is fantastic for getting both sides good and bad. i've got a new n73 as an upgrade to replace my w810 and love it but i've stil got 10 days and i'm thinking about one of these if the nokia plays up. my last 3 phones have been sony ericsson and think there are brilliant easy to use handsets but the slider's not something i'm used to so if people are having trouble after a few days then yes i wan't to know about it.

there are 3 of us in this house that all work in the mobile industry and one that actually works for sony ericsson! yes we'll big up any sony ericsson handset but the same goes for any brand - if you don't handle it with care you can damage it!

the car door was an example of taking care of your device. it's times like this when i loose interest in gsm arena. it's clear that tony was making a valid point yet someone thinks it's adult to put some stupid input in and remain nameless. the whole point is this: if you don't take care of your w850i slider, it could become slack. if you can't understand the basics - don't buy the phone!

Laurence2k is kinda right. I work for Sony Ericsson in Europe and have seen the testing on hany handsets. 99% of the 'broken' sliders ARE user error. When using a 'push up' style phone people don't read the instructions. The advice is to 'gently' push the slide up with your thumb and not let go until it's fully open. There is a special ridge to rest your thumb on to do this. Every time you just 'flick' it up you make the system weak, over time this will become slack. Can you all honestly say you open yours correctly?! Do you just 'fling' your car doors open when you get in/out? Think about it.

bazza, fine, opinions it is then. everyone, in my opinion none of you should buy this phone, there is a chance you could get one with a faulty sliding mech. in fact, don't buy any phone, just in case it's not perfect. hey, just nobody buy anything then you won't have to moan online! guys, lets have constructive opinions. compare the phone to your last one or another brand. all the moaning is so dull!

laurence2k i thought this was for opinions? if people give their opinions on a product then others can get a good idea of what its like before they part with their hard earned cash.
so pls people if you have opinions, problems or love it let the rest of us know. it helps us make up our mind.

guys, there is no doubt this phone is fantastic but please don't get confused with phone error and user error! i don't know why some of you are online moaning about a broken slider! take it back to where you bought it. by law they will fix it with your manufacturers guarantee. nothing is perfect and things brake, don't waste space on here moaning about a problem you can fix.

W850's sliding cover is quite loose after a few occasions of usage and slights down very easily. No doubt the phone is quite good for some of its special features like its nicer design, "Mega Bass","4X Digital Zoom", "SVG Tiny 1.1", "Photo Light" & "Lights Effect" but as compared to the features in K800, W850 still loses out. Guys outta there, think carefully before you buy. Unless you're a music lover, then you go for W850. If not, for more advanced features & a better camera, pls go for K800.

ive been using the w850, and the sliding mechanism is great!!
Its a bit loose, but it won't break off easily. The mechanism is made a bit loose, but it ok. The sliding is really smooth.

Wendy that is a good question, it the sliding mechanism of the w850i loses easily

I just want to know if your W850i can zoom in or out in 2 and 1 MP rezolution when the phone is in camera mode!!
Mine can zoom only in VGA mode :((((

I just got this phone and it rocks. Cool Theme and the speaker is very good. Much better than my previous N series Nokia phone. I have a choice to take the W810 but my friend is having it, and I didn't like the tiny screen, so decided to wait for this one. Am glad i did because the sliding really make it feels better than a normal Candy Bar phone with smaller screen. For me, camera is not important while music is, so this is definitely one for a music lover.

Look Guys dont be fooled ok i have been using almost all the major series of SonyE fones, currently i have w810i and k800i the pic of 3mp is really very good i f u put it into ur pc or on the moble its crispy and clear but the ppl who r saying the prints of 3mp r not good is bcoz the feature of nightmode is not used in k800i when the flash mode is on thus makng the pics a bit dark so try to take pics in good light or in day times i know ull witness the quality is far more better than 2mp try it ull see,i cant write the details as the things are a bit technical and it takes too much space to write and 4 u ppl to read so its the best i can do thnx
