this phone is still not officially available in india!!!!
as of now sony is officially goin to release only w830i(donno when) in india and not w850i!!!! :(

nice looking, fancy theme, nice slider,
nice direction pad.........
but worst of all....SUCKY 2 mega pixel camera
equipped wif a 2 mega pixel camera.....
it somehow is blocky n is a very ugly on screen
dunno about putting it on comp tho...

Having used the phone for a week now, I've found one bug and one annoying feature.
The annoying feature is the video player. It's rubbish. I put a film onto the memory stick, and then saw how bad the player was. The picture quality is great, but the only functions the player has is "play" and "stop". No pause or fast forward/rewind that I can see... No use at all.
The bug that I found is that you cant edit bookmarks in the browser. When I save a bookmark then later go back and edit it, it always says memory full (even with 16Mb availabel internal)
Try this... Create a bookmark called "gmail" address "www.gmail.com", I then edited the bookmark to be "Gmail" (capital G). The phone said a bookmark exists and to overwrite, then after confirmation is always says memory full. It would be interesting to see if anyone else gets this?
Other than that, excellent phone.

Went into store in UK today to see a real working version, very impressed with this phone. Was told it was only available on 3 or Vodafone, yet it is available through the Orange website?! Now have to convince Orange to let me have it as an upgrade! Originally, ordered Samsung D900, very let down, seemed poorly contructed, not a fan of the new Samsung menu system, bring back the original set up please!! Sent the phone back after about 2 days.

Samsung phones nearly all look the same especially the flip and slide ones...
If I were you, I wouldnt a d900 as it looks the same... I want to get this phone because it's different... But thats my opinion.

ive just ordered this fone on vodafone as an upgrade...but i love samsung fones and am worried its not as good..so i might end up changing it for a d900

just got mine, slightly chunkier than i expected, but a nice phone. plus it comes with a 1 GIG card which is brilliant.

i use SE but after i hear about it i buy it but this mobiles is slow and is sound is craoy kike N93. it sound is not louder and then i come to W850 its really good phone not hang like nokia 3250.

Just got my W850i yesterday, the phone is about the same size of K750i but the build quality of the phone are much more of high class materials. The slider is smooth and auto, the best of all when u close the slider the phone keypad lock itself.
It's a good value phone where u can have a 3G, Walkman & 2Mp camera phone ( 3 in 1).
The speakers are solid, the flash light can be used as torch light & suprising the MX-60 detachable flash led can be used for this W850i. There is also a built in lighting effects for walkman functions, etc.
I think the black color are much nicer in term of the design. The light can be switch on when playing music and was told that this phone can use up to 4GB.
The software very similar to K800i except K800i focus more on camera and W850 focus more on music but both are 3G enabled. I assumed that W850i are replacing the bulky W900i, the design and size have tremendously improved over W900i.
Looking at the functionality and user interface that very simliar, this phone should be able to store more than a thousand sms just like K800.
Overall, it's a very solid & well design slider phone by sonyercissson and battery life are also very good (the phone will auto cut off and goes into power saving mode).
I think the price of W810i will fall rapidly due to this phone on the market very soon (officially launch).
