here are some other copmarison between w850 and 5700
nokia 5700 is a smart phone based on symbian 9.2 3thrd edition which also means that you can install many different progerams on it,a big loads of applications , including a great answering machine and lots of others! w850 is a non-smart java application phone which is pretty fast,but ofcourse limited !in nokia 5700 there are some dedicated keys for the music to fully control it ( not just to load the music player like the ugly button on w850 ) , but there isn't any such button on 850 !internal memory ? it is just 16 mg in w850,so na'ive ! in 5700 it is two times bigger,32 mg! in 5700 you can have access to office document ( word,excel ,pdf things and ....) easily thanks to the operating system and the big screen ,can you do it on w850?the keys on 5700 are so big and comfy to use,really easy i mean,but try sending a sms with w850 ( if you are a man big big thumbs !!!! ) that's way too hard,not talking about the loose buttons that make bad sound when pressed! the lock key on w850 doesn't work properly , cuse to unlock it you just have to press the lest key,then the right one ! very bad cause you can do it accidentlay in your pocket!the screen of w850 , when you open the slide sometimes fades or shows some unwanted lines !!! you don't find these problems in 5700 ! i mean hello oooo! this is the first slider by sony ericsson , so you can't ecxept more out of it

man i agree with you that its sound quality is really good ( but only thriugh the head phones ! ) . the loud speakers of this phone made me disappointed,very quiet and not loud.i mean if you go out with your friens and want to show what your great walkman is capable of .... that's really embarressing because its sound through the speakers isn't loud at all!
but 5700 has two speakers ( it's not mono )and sounds really loud and very high class.
the screen of 5700 doesn't leave a chance for the one on w850.it has 16 million colors not just 256 k,and it's way bigger and brighter.the icons with new themes could be changed and that's wonderful,but through hundreds of themes that i searched through the net not a lot of them could do it.so the menu and icons are really boring in se w850.picture quality?both are 2 mega pixel without auto focus,but if you shoot a movie with 5700 you will worship it.qvga and very fast,so good you could burn it into a cd with nero and watch it with your t.v ! the movie made by w850 ???? give me a break !!! lol,that's funny ! the port for the headphones on 5700 is 3.5 mm,basiclly means you could use any kind of headphones you like without an adaptor,for w850 you could do it too,but one hassle! you can't use it directly , you have to connet your favorite headphones to the adaptor on the phone and making it very long and funny !w850 makes cracky sounds when pressed in the open slide , 5700 is very firm and makes no nasty sound.so ricky,my friend let me tell you that i am not a fan of nokia myself,i have had some very good se phones too and my best phone ever is SONY ERICSSON W800 ,i really loved it.battery life in w850 is way better than 5700 and it is a good replacement for your ipod ( but again just through the headphones ) which is funny cause you need the loud speakers too, huh?in that case if the loud speaker is not important for you buy a se w950 ,it is smart,4 giga bytes of memory,really stylish and touch screen,surly it doesn't have a camera but don't worry because you will never want to use the retarded camera on your w850.so in my opinion better choices are :
1 : se w800 or k 750
2 : nokia 5700 xpress music
3: se w950 ( no camera ! )

Better then 5700.go for it.those who say 5700 is better r just .... .navigation is very easy to use.

You will need a third party software for adding album art to a mp3 file.go for media monkey for adding album art.

Could anyone tell me how you get the album art on the phone, i have ripped some of my cd albums to the phone using the disc to phone software and would like to know how to get the album art on along with them.???

i have has nearly all of the good phones on the market,including nokia,sony ericsson , sumsung and ...i recently bought a w850 and let me tell you i am not really satisfied with that.why? here we go.
1.the best thing about this device is its battery life,you won't believe how great it is.it can last for hours,you can listen to music for 10 to 15 hours and be sure that you still have enough battery to go.
2.the quality of music thriugh the headphones ( especially a pair of good ones ) is superb,you really can compare it with very cutting edge advanced mp3 players of high class! forget about your i-pod,it's not relly better!
3.the volume of music through the speakers is shamefull,really low.this is rediciolous,when you buy a phone that its only great point is music ( walkman series ! ) you expect good and loud voice,you won't find it here.
4.somebody said camera? what is that stupid camera doing there? it's really pethetic,low quality,terrible movie recording,no auto focus !!
5.design,well it is not really as good as it shows in the pictures,when you hold it in your hands,first you find it heavy and then you feel it is really chunky.not slim at all,so if you put it in your pocket you are gonna end up with something funny in your pocket that's supposed to be the modern phone ,lol.and the screen is very small,so the 320*240 reselution and 256k color doesn't save the day,you really can't find it anny better than k750 in the aspect of screen.the menu and the icons? it seems that there's nobody creative in the company,it hasn't changed at all,all the same corny icons!and something really annoying is the time when you open the slide,it is not fixed.something wrong in the design i guess,so it is not firm and makes treebille sound when pressed.the navagation key ? you have to train yourself for some days to come to terms with it,especialy if you have big fingers!very bad.
i don't recommend it at all,if you want a music phone get a nokia 5700 xpress,it is more beautiful and really better.

hey joel...dont eva buy w610....that phone sucks!!!..i had it for a week and then i went back for w810..when u hold the phone the battery cover starts screeming...camera is also not that good as compared to w810 or w850..go for w850,its a gr8 phone overall..

My phone now is W850. it's a wondering phone especially about the feature and the design. i love it so much.. it's a best none OS phone. if you like design, it's better you choose W850i.(sliding phone, cool..)

Hi Zaheer, as far as i know u can use bluetooth headset to listen to music on this phone cuz it supports A2DP. u can check this in Sony Ericsson site stating this phone's specifications. cheers :)

hi anne,dis phone is not that expensiv now,if u dun mind AP set it wil only cost about RM1050 or lesser. if u insist on ori set with warranty from Sony Ericsson then it might cost around RM200 more,this im not very sure. im getting mine today in white ;)

hi there i m now usin w850i ,i think u should buy w850i cos it havin a nice desgin n it is an walkman phone up to 7 hrs standby time up to 35 hrs

I think this phone have lots of funtion , its speaker having quite a loud volume despite the fact that it might damage our hearing.I think it have a nice desgin among sony ericsson phones.

i am really confuse on the w610i and the w850i.. .i can"t decide which is better even though w850i is expensive, i can buy it. what are their advantages and disadvantages?? coz i"m planning to buy next month.. .please help me.. .i have large fingers though and which is more louder of the two??hope you"ll reply to my post>>tnx in advance!!=)
