I'm so close in buying this phone.Is there an adapter that I can buy so that I can use an after market earphones?coz what happens if I break the bundled earphones coz I want to use my expensive shure earcanal earphones.this is the only thing that kept me from buying this phone.

the best walkman phone from SE..camera just average..it depends what buyer needs..camera function or music function? if you are music lover then go and get this W850i and you'll just love it or else get a SE K' series with powerful camera capture and viewing..trust me that you won't regret to have this phone..I'm having the black one..hehe!

no no don't do this mistake w810 is better phone then w850 this phone have slideing problem means very hard camera nt so good as w8i0 even sound qulty,screen alsi nt so nice.but rest up to u

its amazing..
one of the best phones i have had... and i have had a few.

to the guy that wrote a very long comment down there...
1st> about the locking keypad... when u close it it will have sign that it's locked but if u press the button to the left of walkman key during "key" sign it will automatically unlock, hmm i don't know if this was ur problem, but mine is never like that, it's locked perfectly..
2nd> My camera has no prblem, it takes great picture at noon, much greater than 1.3 mpx or vga camera,, and i compare the photo taken at the dark with N80!! guess what, it's even much better than N80 that says have 3 mpx camera..
3rd.. I admit it with massaging issues.. It was too slow because i'm also fast typing, like word "impossible" when i thought i finished that word, it may only like "impospibke",, i agree with u in that thing
don't get me wrong here,, i'm not saying what u say is wrong, maybe u get a bad phone,maybe SE quality control is not good, who knows... I just don't want people that read ur comments doesn't want to buy w850.. O yeah,, i admit w850 is not a perfect phone, it just perfect in the sense of music playing.. I admit the camera is not the best but it's not bad either, i admit there are some that makes me dissappointed, but overall i can say that this phone really satisfy me, the batery is very long, music is great, camera? a little bit dissaponting sometimes ^^... the D-pad is annoying...

I think you have better to master reset your phone. if it doesn't work again, flash it.

I've to mention that 6270 is one of the worst mobiles in file browsing, it is too slow!(All the nokia phones which are not featuring Symbian OS are really slow!) and it has another problem that if you mark your files, you can just copy or cut them and you aren't able to send them via bluetooth! so you have to send them one by one!
And about Camera I should say that w850 is slightly better than 6270.

i had this phone for almost 7 month. i love it and i love it. the longest lasting battery , even when you play music, however becareful. the navigation part ( near play botton ) craked. this phone had this issue before, i never ever dropped the phone, i called se, they asked me to send it in, spent $29.00. they called me yesterday wanted $190.00 to replace that part. because its a physical damage i swear to them , this phone was never dropped , there is no scarch or ding on the phone, still they said $190.00 or send the phone back, i said send it back. my next phone i guess will be se w910. however se corp. broke my heart :(

Ok im going to give my honest opinion about this phone after 5 weeks of using it, although its not going to be popular with the people who rave about this phone, its MY OPINION, everyone has the right to have their own opinion.
I have written a few reviews now on here saying that i think this is a great phone and better than the k800, however, i have changed my mind for a few reasons. Firstly, the issue of the automatic keypad lock coming on when you close the phone. Yes, the keypad locks itself if you shut the phone whilst on the standby screen (the screen dispalying your wallpaper and network (the homescreen)) and does stay locked when the sleep mode clock comes on. However, if you had the phone open long enough for the sleep mode clock to come on, and you then close the phone whilst sleep mode clock is displayed, although the phone will initially show that the keypad is locked, when the phone goes back into sleepmode clock, the keypad is UNLOCKED despite it previously telling you its locked. The times ive been caught out by this and therefore accidently phoning people whilst in my pocket, its just something thats really irritating. Secondly, the phones keypad is quite slow to respond whilst writing a text, sometimes you press a number a certain amount of times to get a letter but the phone hasnt responded to one of those key presses. This wouldnt be great for fast texters. Finally, the camera. Yes, i accept that this is a music phone (and actually, it plays music fantastically well, its brilliant.) Although its equipped with a 2mp camera, i have taken better pics with phones with a 1.3mp or even VGA cameras. And it does have an led for taking pictures at night, well thats a joke, even when you have the light on and the camera in night mode, the pics taken are just unrecogniseable. During the day, 2mp pics are ok, but as ive said ive taken better pics on lower resolution cameras. Some people may argue that this is a music phone and the camera is irrelevant. However, my opinion is that, ive paid more to have a better camera, but im getting as much use out of my w850 as i have my w300 i had a year ago, which only had a vga camera and no flash, but im getting the same quality pics and near enough same quality sound from music. So i feel that i have lost out by buying this phone and wish i never got rid of my k800 (im not in any way comparing the k800 camera to the w850 camera, ive compared this phones camera with lower resolution cameras.)
Having said all this though, if you want a good music phone and dont care about the camera atall, this is definatley the phone to go for as music quality is outstanding, and also it is fairly easy to use apart from texting. Cheaper SE walkman phones look exactly as they are, cheap and nasty (the w300 doesnt but as thats not available now, the w850 is a great alternative). Just a shame that it doesnt suit me.

I have 2 say having nothing but nokias from n70 7373 6300 6280 an using friends samsung phones the camera on this phone is amazing as is the walkman facility i think the slide motions very smooth an its very user friendly an unlike nokia phones iv had it doesnt keep switchin off an restarting itself...1 question wots the clear jelly like buton on top left of phone 4 is it a light sensor pls let me know iv read manual no joy..thanx

snake, it would be easier for you to set separate profiles for each phone line. Look in the general settings menu to edit the profiles. Set one with line 1, and another with line 2, and switch profiles as you need to ;)

Fantastic features. My only issue is the navigation keys are not user friendly - they are so tiny! I often hit the mp3 player shortcut by accident when I'm trying to press the 'up' key. I've also found dust is getting in under the screen, but apparently that's common with 'slide' phones
