may i know how is the w850i earpiece? Loud enough? (i mean when u call some person, can u hear them loud enough and clearly?) i had own w810i before and feel that the earpiece is a little bit soft and sometime can't hear the voice cleary. Thanks for your help!!!

I've had it for a week now and its brilliant. I spend loads of time parked in front of my PC so I use my data cable and some software to make calls or sms and handle my contacts. FloAts Mobile Agent (stable) is quite good. Overall its a really nifty phone with proper tools especially if you have internet connections. The only problems are the navi keys which are really tiny and the rather flimsy build ...but for this you can purchase a protective case. Does anybody know of companies that sell covers/cases who agree to ship to Africa? Thanks

There is somthing like flash light on the left side, on the top of my mobile(W 850i). would you please help me and reply me what is the function or it?

had this phone for 1 month now and really like it. I have a 2007 model so the d pad dont crack. Also if you are going to get this phone make sure u buy some better headphones to go with it. I got the HPM-85 headphones with it for free and they are awesome !!
all together a good phone but....
1) the whole phone feels really cheap and plasticy
2) the camera is really poor, especially at night
3) the slider is really poor
4) the headphones that come with it as standard and really poor sound and tinny

Yeah sorry, it's very hot in London today, Ithink the heat is melting my brain a little, hehe.
Yeah the one thing about the design that I'm a little bothered about is when the phone is slid to its compact state, the slide mechanism is a little lose for some reason but isn't overly noticible. With regards to the crack along the D pad problem, as I got mine in Oct/Nov it's obviously an 06 model but I have not had any cracks like this appear, and we have hardly had any complaints about this problem. I'm guessing it must effect around 3/10 handsets which are 06 models, but no one has had this problem since we started selling the 07 models.

Though I do agree the handset is the best apart from two minor things, the Direction Pad is awful and the slide doesn't seem the most secure. But great otherwise. Sound is the best I have hear!!

Hi guys/girls
I have had this phone for about 6-7 months now, and I love it. I previously had a D600 and this is way better. Working for a mobile phone company I have had a chance to play with all the latest phones including the Nokia N95 and although the two phones shouldn't really be compared I can't help but do so. Although I was mildly impressed by some of the features such as the 5mp camera, I can't help prefering the Motorola W850i for it's menu lay out and ease of use.
Accessing the MP3 is sooo damn easy and quick with the dedicated button and the clarity through an earpiece comes close to rivalling my Ipod.
I think it may be a while before I find another phone which I have taken to as much as I have with this little box of tricks.
I hope this helps anyone thinking of buying this phone. If you do end up buying it you won't be disapointed.

Im sorry to say that i only kept this phone for 1 day, very disapointed. Internet button to close to the return button so you are always connecting to the net. :(

MAxx is good in design nad HSDPA, whereas W850 is better in music.. But actually, MAxx doesnt lose out in music, the playback keys, quality, speaker dont lose to w850i. Also maxx is thinner than w850i. The only thing i might say W850i is better is bcz of the walkman software, it is a good msuic software, but maxx's music software is a new software which doesnt lose out much to SE w850i..
Maxx uses a new UI, its not like the old Razr UI, its a new one, hope my opinion helps=)
If u are super specific bout music, w850i, or else, for HSDPA, good looks, chik and other thingm including a huge nice QVGA screen, go for a MOTO MAxx.. w850i's screen is so pathtic small, thats a problem for me

I mean, how the heck could I compare W850i to W800 if I didn't have the phone? I am thinking of selling W850i getting W880i simply because of it's thinnes, so I can bring it with my when I am wearing tight jeans. By the way, W850i has superb display, though. I have to admit. The size is bigger and it's more vivid compare to other previous SE phones, even to my P910i

Oh, I do have this phone. And also some other Sony Ericsson phones. I am a Sony Ericsson die hard fan. But W850i just sits there in my drawer unless I need to use the video call. For anything else, I use my W800i. I don't mean to insult this phone. It just doesn't work for me. If you don't mind the camera and the crack on the navigation keys then go for it. I won't stop you. You didn't have to say nasty things to me just because I don't like this phone. I think I am entitled to have my opinion. Beside, in this forum we give and get information, advice and opinion. Have fun!

Honestly,
I sold my black w850i to get a w880 in silver.I love the w880, but I have bought another w850i in white for a holiday use.
It is amazing.
