Great phone, but with some cons: no radio, no camera flash and no autofocus.

First of all, this phone has a QVGA display(in my opinion, very well), it comes with a memory card of 1GB and has 3G.It is very thin and light.
Bad points: hasn't autofocus, there's no radio and infrared.Oh, there's no flash too.
I really would buy other phone like SE w850.
But if u are looking for a phone very light, u can buy it.

I'm looking forward to have this phone, sony ericsson phones are better than nokia phones. With it's slim design this phone is up for grabs.

I just got the phone on 02, I have the citybeat theme, but the menu is still the 4x3 grid, and not horizontal.
Can this be changed?

PROBLEM : My W880i doesn't support music equalizer to Bluetooth hands free "Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970".
O'k !
But the PROBLEM is that Nokia 6300 support equalizer function with the same device.
Is there a possible to solved this problem ?

So this phone has great features, but what's the use of havin a camera phone without a flash light? what's more important? the features you can enjoy in it doesn't specifically have to be complete, but I guess I would put my pictures that I take with my phone as something very important...think about it! Good shot MEMORIES!

some ppl like it some dont like it.....well everyone has its own choice but i ll go for it bcoz to me design does matter alot and no doubt its a very sexy looking set ...ppl who would see u having this set would definitely want to have a hold this in their hands ..dats what i want ............and yes its not a bad features set too. 2mp camera ,walkman and 1 gb memory is not bad, do miss flash , fm radio, small screen but its ok to me...............I LOVE SONT ERICSSON, yeah baby u rockkkkkkkk

O.k. its right,it has not so many features as the new S/E phones,but for its price its a very good 3G phone with all the basic functions of S/E phones.A little Bonus is the slim style of the phone.I dont say that its the best phone of S/E,its a "good" phone from S/E.And I dont think that there is a "best" phone of any brand....

i keep reading how people think is this best se phone ever..which i find strange as it's one of the least featured se phones in the range with lots of limitations and issues. thats why i chose to keep my 2 year old w810i and sell my brand new w880.
my view is that if you like the size and design, then fine. But if you want features, then pick just about any other phone in the SE range and you will be much happier. For me it's more important to have things like a light/flash, radio, good loudspeaker..etc than it is to have a slim phone
I understand that to get to that size, you have to drop certain features so if that's your key requirement, then great. But to keep reading that this phone is the best se phone and that it does everything you could ask for is incorrect and misleading to people who are considering purchasing.

PROS
- Very thin design
- Brilliant display (great resolution)
- Great memory space (1Gb + phone)
- Easy menu navigation
- Good in-ear headphone (I can use it inside my helmet!)
- Has a very great battery life if you turn off the cell at bed time (considering its cool stuffs)
CONTS
- 2MP cam without Carl Zeiss signature and no light/flash
- No FM radio
- No Infrared port (i don't know if SE could place it in such thin side)
- Weak espeaker for both use (MP3 and handsfree)
I cannot use its 3G advantages -- like videocall or large bandwith internet -- because there is no 3G network in Brazil (for a while).
For now, I'm a real SE fan! I change this cell only for another SE phone. :)

Hi all Sony Ericsson fans,
I have own this phone for 4 months now - And I realy Love IT. It is very stylish and very smoot. If you love SE-phones - BUY IT!
This is a Walkman-phone, have 2.0 megap. camera (take good pictures in the daylight)! Very thin phone. I just Love IT! ;o)

saw my friend's black 880i's back part (orange) colour start to fade away after 2 mths..not sure if the steel colour have the same effects..guys take note of it..anyway im buying the steel colour soon..

At first I was told by my friends not to buy this phone. According to them it is not woth of its value and price. It is a piece of junk. But I took this risk and bought this phone. It is one of the best phones available in the market today.
Even beibg SLim its battery perfoms excellent. Rest of its features are essential
and working.
