Just got this phone and here are my initial thoughts:
Design - 10
Interface/set-up - 10
SE.com support - 10
Music functionality - 10
Keypad - 2!!!
Ok, what were they thinking with this keypad? It's terrible! Yes you do get used to it but hell, what a steep learning curve! It screams "Don't Touch Me!!!" Forgivable though because of all the other aspects which were awesome.

This walkman will for sure not stop iPod, but at least it gives us a way to escape from that crazy iPod thing. BTW this phone is much better as some people try to tell you here on this website.

Nice looking phone, good features... anyone with large fingers may find the keypad a pain in the butt, keys very small (raised though), nice compact phone though.
Not my cup of tea for a phone, I'll keep my W800i.

Excuse all..how often do u guys listen to radio? Stop using FM radio as a weakness of this phone.. I think this phone is PERFECT!

WELL! at the end of the day,the W900 mite be big oldish and abit heavy BUT its got the best 2mp camera WITH AF, the best video recording and playback, a GRAPHICS CHIP! a proper comfortable keypad, THE BIGGEST SCREEN out of all the JAVA WALKMANS and CYBERSHOT, oh and NW THE TRACK-ID APPLICATION, and RADIO etc. . . W900 is the perfect WALKMAN, it gave the WALKMANS a great name AS great allrounderz til the W850 and W880 had to totaly take away such great pride and give the WALKMANS a bad,cheap name

w900 is OLD and HEAVY.The 950 is much better for music ,great, but also with a difficult "keypad" and TOO BIG AND HEAVY for me, for example.We already have 4gb micro memory sticks available for w880 and newer models.So,as soon as we can have rds radio with an accessory, the w880 will be just perfect.

this phone doesnt have QVGA video recording, it has the ancient CIF video recording,the W900 has QVGA 30fps video recording! W900 stands as the best WALKMAN PHONE EVA MADE! and its SO FAR THE BEST SONY ERICSSON at video recording AND PLAYBACK! the W880 i can see is a mid-range walkman NOT a higher end Walkman like the W900 and W950!! there are stil some higher end WALKMANS to be announced but only in 3rd or more likely in 4th quater of this year, im disappointd to see W880 has no radio, it has very little internal memory, a very small screen, tiny buttons,ancient video recording res. and the camera aint dat gud bt da camera aint too important since this is a walkman

this phone look 10x prettier than the pictures i just got one yesterday for my brother and it's awsome very chic design well built high quality meterials, the buttons look too small but it's good you can use it with no problem i have a big hand and used it just fine the screen had a great resultion but it's too small if it had a 2" screen it will be great,camera has average quality,sound are good the loudspeaker is very good for such slim phone but when you plug the walkman earphones it's another world the quality is so amazing and the 1gig great more than enough and now the 4gigs are available in M2 memory cards

The fone looks gud in d newzpapers n TV, but in reality it sucks...itz 2 thin...the keyz are also 2 small......surely,dis fone has put a bad name on sony ericsson's "W" series.

great phone except for one thing. knock it in the wrong place (halfway up the battery cover on my handset) and it'll swith off. this can get rather annoying if you don't check your phone every 10 mins!!

This phone is AWESOME!!
Had it for four days now and just love it! I bought the black n orange one. It looks amazing, its walkman is fantastic and the keys and user interface are great!!
(I don't understand why people have a problem with the keys..) Plus its tiny! looks really sleek n sexy.
The 2 mp camera is really really good..lotsa features(but i guess its old news to all new sony ericsson veterans! lol) The video's not that great though (QVGA). And there's no flash..but thats ok..it works for upto like just 100cm anyways.
This is my first sony ericsson phone..and I have to say they rock! NOKIA SUCKS! I can't believe I was about to buy the N73 over this.
All in all a great buy!! Just love playing with it. Listen to rock all day..already have like 200 songs on it. and still have a couple hunderd Mbs left on the 1 gig stick. the animations are really good(million times better than teh dead Nokias!)
Forget about how much it costs..it'll be worth it :)

i got this marvelous phone 4 days ago...
i still think that w850i is the best SE ever made, but the 880i has obsolutely the best phone design ( and i mean among all brands), it's true it lacks a flash and a radio but it's still marvelous.. does anyone know where to download games for it?

Oh My God, look at this phone. It just screams out,'Look at me and touch me, love me'. And that is exactly what we must do. This phone is one of the best pohones SE has created.
It's sound is absolutely astounding and so are the pictures taken by the 2mp camera.
I'm am so lucky to be the owner of one.
I had an N73 but ever since I bought it, I regretted it. But now I have my sweet w880i. Thanks guys. I love this phone:P
