Dear cashis manes, could you help me out coz im having difficulties wid da silent feature on this se mobile,its so annying it deliberately goes to silent itself and im like WHAT how comes no ones riging me?. mate please help me out ur da onli guy on dis website dat i actually beleive that can solve this.

it has a 3.5mm Jack on the WALKMAN Adaptor!!!!!

we complain about not having a 3.5mm jack because its a WALKMAN PHONE, which means its for music isn't it?!

Why the hell are people complaining about it not having a 3.5mm audio jack? How would you plug in a non-bluetooth hands-free kit if you've got an audio jack? You wouldn't be able to use a mic!
This phone is awesome. I had an "equivalent" Nokia for the last 12 months and it was RUBBISH. Crappy, harder to use software, which was also really slow. The music player sucked.
Sony are so much more thoughtful too. They add features into their software that make it so much more pleasurable to use than a Nokia.

Go look at the phone in a store (pictures do not represent its character well - many also said and I agree!)
this phone is very feminine - it is a nice little expensive phone with limited features for girls.
It is far from being macho.
It is bad news for the guys and good news for the girls.
And, it explains why it is still overpriced. Today´s market the target consumer group is the teen girls.
Guys should buy the X1 ;)

if you really think you have a point please suggest an alternative phhone to this one!
state specific models not just statements!
suggest a better (or even equal) phone that is thinner than a centimeter.
i never had SE before and i am not a fan.
i consider buying this phone simply becuae there are no alternatives.
it seems like SE are the best in thin music phones...

Currently, phones with this size have better and more features than this phone: for example
autofocus and flash!
This is not a W890 fan website!

Call SE and see how long it takes to get through! Ask them what is the deal with the battery and the screen problems.
How you can enforce the warranty for the battery!
Not everybody has to write ˝W890 rocks, SE rules, buy it today˝

Does anyone have bluetooth problems after Sony ericsson's latest update? it seems that when I am connected to my w890, after I hang up my phone, the bluetooth stays connected and doesn't fully hang up. Now my bluetooth devices' battery doesnt last half the time it used to...

if you dislike this phone so much - what are you still doing in this forum?
if you want to wait for C902 or G900 please wait and leave us alone!
this phone is amazing and nothing you can say will make us think otherwise.
phone in this size never have GPS, WiFi or any other of the things you say.
we look for a super slim phone in this forum and no other phone (in this size) can compeate this amazing phone!!!

hello friends i go by the name of cashis. everyone that has posted there opinion on this handset are in for a big surprise. no seriously and i am not joking if any one and i mean anyone needs software for this particular handset i could help you if you give me your email address i could send it to you and its nothing dojy because i am not that sort of person and the reason why i could help you out is because i work for SE which is the advantage as i get phone for a good amount of money. So don't hesitate to ask i wont bite lol. anyways bye my friends and if you need any help just ask.

Going back to the topic - W890
It is out only a few weeks but practically already outdated.
(why?)
There are two more phones (c902, G900)in the pipeline and will be available soon which better than W890. And these are both from SE.
From other manufactures there are even more.
Shortcomings:
- small screen
- no autofocus
- no flash
- poor quality video
- poor quality camera
- weak speaker phone
- lack of touch screen
- lack of GPS
- weak and unreliable battery (it is not possible to have 40% after 3 days of usage especially when BT used.)
- screen problems reported by many people
- limited memory
- small buttons
- no Wifi
- poor replay (music) quality (it is also reported by independent reviews)
Razor and Iphone has been a sold out - people were standing in line for them for week after week.
W890 was offered for 500USD only a few weeks ago. Now you can get it for less than 400USD.
It is available everywhere, there is no much interest for it.
Most people realize that it has no special features, it is only good for making regular calls. The screen is small for internet.
and there are several slim phone on the market and many more just about to come out.
I vote for the newer SE phones or other brand.
I think WLAN is a must. GPS also a resonable expectation.
Flash and autofocus is needed otherwise there is no point to have a camera. 5MP is getting the standard now.
For this price, a 2˝ screen is a joke!

By the way , all sillyness aside, it's a great little phone. I have used it 3 days moderately and with bluetooth and still have 40% battery left. The sound is on par with my sony nw 818 walkman which is excellent. Body is very sturdy and build quality is top notch, it is 10 steps above my razor :)
If anybody has any questions I would be happy to answer them.

why mstl sound like a preacher? maybe he can go to greenpeace website to post comment about waste and garbage? Its ok to buy $250 phone if we can afford it, its our money anyway.

I have gone through the phone. The camera is damn nice and clear but no anti shack. Video is bad. The sound is very slow compare to Motorola phone that I have. It should be named as low speaker rather than loud speaker. I change my mind to reject the phone after I listen to the volume and sound quality. I did saw some comments about saying the ring tones is "very loud". Please compare it with Motorola L6, W230, N71, and others. The sound quality in earphone could be nice. But in the loudspeaker is really bad. I’m from Malaysia. The price for the phone is RM1600 and my Motorola phone cost RM299. I can get better sound quality and loud in my Motorola phone. What is the point getting new and costly phone but with less quality. I’m not sure why this phone is called as W890 (walkman). The sound quality is really bad. Please don’t go for this phone. The picture quality is there but without anti shack it become worst. With this phone you will get blur pictures if you are in rushing because there is no anti shack. We can’t take picture at night – no flash.
Overall: I will never recommend this phone to anybody. I will rather get Motorola or Samsung for cheaper price but with better quality than this phone.
