horribly expensive and no wi-fi and worse of all a music phone does not have a 3.5 mm jack

Sony Ericsson's run of ill fortune doesn't seem to be over yet with their CFO announcing that the manufacturer needs 100 million euros to keep its head above the water. Sony Ericsson has seen its fortunes take a tumble recently with sales down 50% in the first quarter of this year and the global economic crisis and falling consumer demand won't help matters improve. The 100 million euros needs to be raised before the end of the fiscal year (March 2010) and Sony Ericsson are reported to be looking at various options to raise the money.
And this phone is the supreme example of SE policies that destroy their products: no 3.5 mm jack, very expensive M2 card and very expensive phones.
Those who don't learn from the mistakes of history are bound to repeat it.

i feel se fones r a bit fragile.. but, very enjoyable to use..

no 3.5 jack is no problem...because the earphoe is great....but if you want to listen the music wiht active spaker, you can plug un the converter..just easy

i bought the phone last week,well previous versions of walkman ws having 2mp cam, and 5mp cam in a walkman phone is a revolution, but still i dunno y pix are yellowish, coz thrs no Carl Zeiss lens, 8gb mem crd is the main attraction,

made in china...damn...slips frm ur hand, hits the grnd and thats its!!! RIP :P
but still m using sony ericsson since yrs...whole world owns nokia phone...so why nt standout?...n i knw all the sony ericsson lovers agrees with me!!!...right guys!!!

nothing but nothing beats the convenience of having a built in 3.5 mm jack that this phone does not have. And it's very expensive.

this phone comes with a 8gig m2 card. so you dont need to purchase another one. nokia comes with the common card coz they dont have their own (obviously. they dont have alot of stuff their own too) price wise is pretty cheap for a walkman phone with a 5mp cam. you can get this phone free here in singapore lol. all sony ericsson phones comes with an adapter for the 3.5mm jack anyway. so i dont get all these compaints about. plus this is a pretty old phone. out around the same time with xperia.

ive been using it for 4 months.. nothing bad happened at all.
design is much2 better for w980..
it has light effect which is very stylish..
accelerometer for the "w" logo in front make this fone more awesome..
sound quality, w980 is better.. u can see from the review of these fones..
if u dont mind cam,
just get w980 or w705.. w980 is cheaper, w705 has wifi..

Hi everyone!
I just want to ask any opinion regarding the W980 and W902 SE phones.
I'm planning to purchase a reliable phone that I can use for a long time.
Also, I'm a big fan of Walkman phones and these phones are the ones that my budget can afford. On these 2 phones, I think the FM transmitter vs 5MP camera and card slot are personal choices.
But for you guys, are the design of both phones alright?
Features?
Usability?
In your opinion, is a solid body like the W902 design the more reliable choice? Or is the
sleek flip design of the W980 and its pocket-friendlinees the way to go?
Any other factors that you think can be looked into can be really helpful :)

In my humble opinion, forcing customers to buy their expensive M2 card so they can rake in more profits is very, very distressing.
That's why I don't touch any of their phones or cameras since they are practically scalping you by forcing you to buy the produo or the M2 card.
Nokia is not that selfish. Their phones use the very common microSD card, and this unselfishness has helped them a lot in terms of sales.

Is SE a dying company? They have priced their products out of the competition. And the features of the phones like this one is quite meager compared to others. Look, this very expensive phone has no 3.5 mm jack and uses the very expensive M2 card.

No 3.5 mm jack, very expensive M2 card and the phone itself is terribly expensive. That's why SE is losing the cell phone wars and the fight for them is almost over. They have refused to adapt and that's what they get.
