@to all you say SE CRUSHED uiq

i my self have used p990 for small period of time ya phone had a serious RAM issue but it was solved by SE after they updated their firmware and trust me then it was the best UIQ i used, best part is the camera it had best 2MP camera in the market(even better than the legendary k750) but you after you guys updated your firmware. to mention this i used my phone to keep track of my records on xls files. but what ever there was a small problem which i faced not only in p990 but also in 9300 communicator both being business phones could not open file above 6mb.PDF format. try it if you have any of these phones. i have not tried opening this file in P1i but surly i am buying this babby w960 soon and will open it. and i can asure you that with this much power of ram it can open it without any problem.

and guys SE rocks belive it or not.....

nick, maybe dani's praising nokia in the nokia forums and praising SE here because he (he? she?) likes both brands. i can respect that. i had a 3310, a 3510i and a 6230 and they were all fantastic phones. they suited my needs near enough perfectly at the times. the trouble is that the 3310 was the only one that lasted longer than a year and a half without breaking down. then i got the W850. i was blown away. so easy to use, had all the features i needed (i wanted a better camera, but i didn't NEED it) the look, the feel, it just reeked of quality. i remember not being very impressed with many of the nokias that came out around the same time as the W850 which is the only reason i tried another brand. boy am i glad...

totally agree with yo dani and revenant .se phone are a lot more evolved than nokia phones giving the user a very satisfied feeling with the phone in general . Now nokia fan boys please dont start with the processor speed shit and all that jazz , that is not the criteria of being evolved as a hand held portable music and communication device

after using a series of devices in all ranges across se and nokia i sure can say that .... its not that nokias are bad or anything , they are very competent and able devices wit better hardware than s.e ( agreed ) in some of the cases but they kinda FALL SHORT of providing that ownership feel of a communication and entertainment device that a s.e pone gives you

i liked the comparison eldar made on his site mobile review but in no way what so ever n81 is better than w960 , ( might be lookin good on paper with the hardware comparison ) but one needs to feel the two phones first .... where i think w960 is miles ahead of any of the nokia n series let alone n81

Nick - in terms of practicality, yeah a little bit of extra cable can be a minor nuisance. But it's just that - a MINOR nuisance. Like I said before, it's not really an issue for me coz I use a stereo bluetooth headset (HBH-DS970 and it's so damn good, no more having to pull my phone outta that little pouch to change tracks). As for the N series being bug infested - I know for a fact that the N93 and the original N95 were really, REALLY bad for it. The amount of calls I've taken from frustrated customers (and the worst thing is, I can't do anything for them, coz I only deal with network issues). There are definately more people calling cust car with faulty nokias than there are SEs - simple numbers. I prefer the W960 coz from my personal experience the sound qualiy is clearer and i ind the UI much friendlier. That's all about personal choice. I know somebody who would never buy an phone other than samsung. Personally I hate them. Same with motorolas. The menu layout just doesn't agree with me. You've never experienced any of the problems I have with teh N series, and I haven't yet found any major problems with the W960. That just shows that it's all about what an individual finds attractive in a handset. And yeah, a bit of argument is great - I'm all for that. But I think everybody can safely say that this has gotten a bit out of hn. How about we all agree not to post unless it's something constructive (even it's only for a few days) coz there haven't been any posts from people needing help with genuine issues for a while and lets face it - that's really what this space is for...

@nick, that is so true, it was REALLY boring, all about transformer film getting it on w960i. o the BOREDOM! i really wantd a good argument, but i have to revise and work atm, and its got boring cause i go over the same point over and over again to different (and the same) people, so i want peace before i leave for 8 weeks.

                        (Y) glad we can all be nice to each other.
@ nick, like i said its down to opinion, just search the comments to see all my reasons why i chose it. Its what you prioritieze.
@ tsepz, i think that Mobile review are biased, look at the photos on the w960i review (covered in bits, deliberate attempt to make it look worse), and generally the tone of voice in the text is quite biased. (in my opinion etc)

The phone performs pefectly for me for now. I would have liked a better browser, maybe 5mp camera, VGA+ screen. thats all really. but hey, i respect what u got. And dani annoyed me too a bit. He keeps on switching sides and not using facts in arguments, nice guy, but use better points, and dont keep switching. Like both fine, but keep that way.

i agree that the proccessors arent all what they seem, and the whole OS does play a rather bg role in it all, but i think just putting a 208mhz proccessor right at the beginning is making your job alot harder.

I would just like a sony erricson w960 owner to put his hand up and say "yes, in terms of practicality, the w960 could be improved".

NOT having a 3.5mm jack says to me "we want to lock you into our headphones, and when the adapter breaks, we'll charge you a nice sum to buy a new one". I used to own an LG which was a music phone, and it came with a little 3.5mm jack adapter, and i found it incredibly frustrating! You end up with some huge wire and you dont know what to do with it. The n95 is great because i can just plug in with no strings attached!

That geezer on mobile review had a little table thing which made out the n81 to be better musically so ill just accept its probably right so theres another nokia point!

my next point is that some people seem to believe the Nseries are bug infested. This isnt true! from personal experience, my N95 hasnt crashed in months! I drop the phone now and again, i can just pick it up and go.

I know naturally you defend the phone you've bought but i really cant think of any reasons why the w960 is better than the n81 (except for the camera) or the n95, or n95 8gb.

thats my contribution. (I tried to be friendly)

@Tsepz, i thought we'd got peace man! acceptance of each other man. but u don't seem to have that idea. You even went back to the "LMAO"... i dont know what to say tbh, its just.. not on.
And stop with the annoyingly arrogant attitude. come on, it was so good before all this anger and animosity.

@ nick, we were doing so well! now war again. :| not impressed

                              @Nick and Tsepz.
My primary point is You are doing this forum no good, or giving anyone a great gain, only wasting everyone's time. Debate in a friendly manner is fine, no harm done. But this RUTHLESS...attack-there is no other word- is just beyond the pale tbh. just not cricket.
My secondary "point" is actually a list of points. I had an earlier point but its being "modarated". in any case:

*Firstly, in my experience of Mobile-review, it is a rather biased website, particularly towards nokia, and in some cases anti Sony Ericsson, quoting many "brand" tactics, few of which (in my opinion) are true. In general, i would (in my own opion of course, with no obligation to accept that i am right) take with a pinch of salt what it says about sony ericsson and nokia on any review site (including but not limited to mobile review).
I infact saw some points of "fact" in that article which i could clarify were wrong. Also, looking at the general tone of the article certainly suggests a bias towards the nokia n81. I will go into this further should you wish.
In conclusion: dont believe all reviews you read, use common sense and please dont quote opinion as fact. NO ONE has "prooven" the N81 is better.

*Secondly, @ TSEPZ, really, processor speeds have very impact in phones. You quote the speeds endlessly when a phone is about much more than that. You also make "excuses" for the high processor for the iphone. May i add that the motorola RZR 2 has a 500mHz processor:

"oh god, 500MHz, and no "OS X" to keep up :O. lets all go rush buy that phone!"

In actual fact, not that great a phone. The only problems found with a slower processor are if the phone has significant lag, but this is also impacted on by the OS, GUI, RAM, number of apps, way the particular hardware uses RAM, management. Merely quoting these figures is NOT proog your phone is so much better. MY w960i does not lag, and with the update, it performs even better, with hardly any lag (i would say equal to N95, with a "better processor"

*thirdly, Tsepz, stop quoting...hmm wat to call it... propoganda? yes. You dont know what "millions" of p990 etc users think, stop making it out like you do. stop using them against SE. use facts not opinion

*fourthly, SE do not "buy branding" SE should speak for itself: SONY ERICSSON! its a joint venture between sony and ericsson, although its in reality dominated by sony.
This means they can use technology from both corporations for pretty much free, as sony gets a cut if the profit. This also means its cheaper and more economically viable to use technology already in existance rather than make your own, so in fact, you don't just buy the brand as you said. Hardware and software does translare. also Samsung dont buy the majority of their hardware, they make it. get ur facts straight man.

*fifthly, at TSEPZ,it was interesting to see your double post: one without caps in places, one with caps. Just shows how determined you are to brainwash us into believing the N81 is superior. how interesting.

*sixthly, the w960i in reality/practise wtvr is immense. It is so much better than the n series, which is why i bought it. Althogether, all the factors just make it the best phone on the market, it is IMMENSE. You can say how good urs looks good on paper (and it aint that great on paper either), but in real life, the w960i is so much better.

Thanks for reading! hate the animosity, how about we all be nice from now on eh? no more bashing, trolling etc. sound fair? (Y)

All opinions said in above comment are my own opinion, and feel under no obligation to agree. please make your own decision about mobile-review website.

Nick - the walkman music player is not a hardware feature, it's software. second of all, you have no right to criticise anyone for arguments with no substance - you were the one that said you didn't care about reason or logic. I'd rather have a phone that ran a little bit slower if i was safe and secure in the knowledge that there aren't likely to be any major problems with it...

dani the whole point of this argument was that the sony erricsons do not offer superior sound quality in any respects, in fact thats what the review said!

and a music should have a standard jack if it actually cared about the consumer.

all this rubbish about 'i just SE'. they, like every other phone company just want your money!

also Dani, writing 'walkman' on a phone does not suddenly upgrade the hardware internally so suddenly the sound quality is great. Likewise with cybershot.

in fact dani, your arguments have absolutely no substance to them whatsoever.

nokia provide superior sound quality, they let you use your own jack, videos play smoother because the phones proccessors are vastly superior, mmore applications can be opened at once because of the proccessor, overall, seems like nokias are better huh?

208mhz proccessor in a sony erricson
                                        332mhz or 369mhz in Nokias.
