To Tsepz_N81

The N73 screen is 4 sho' much bigger than the W810i and you said that the W810i looks better beacuse the pixels are closer to each other. And how do you explain the fact that the K800 has better display quality than the W810i? The W810i has little bit smaller screen than K800. Also the K800 can easily beat many Nokia and SE phones in screen quality. If the K800 had a 2.6" screen (like the W960i) with the same quality... i'm 100% sure it would beat easily the W960i screen and almost all Nokia phones! I was shocked when i looked the K800 screen!! It is just unique! I think it has the best screen quality that any other SE phone. (That doesn't mean that the W960i sucks)

    Very true,N73 has a wack screen,but in general with Nokias newer phones its much better, bare in mind N73 is a 1year old phone added with the fact that its a big 2.4inch screen compared to a W810 with 1.9inch meaning pixels are closer together in all areas which gives a better look. I suggest you take a N80 put it next to W960,you will be shocked at how beautiful Nokia can make a display, E60,E70,N80 and N90 are at the top with display quality NOBODY can deny that.
    Dude W960 even in final version looks washd out next to a K850 ,W910,E61i and N95-8GB (THE COLOURS ON W960 ARENT AS SHARP),EVEN next to a N81, i can't stress enough how much quality a touchscreen looses.
    About video,ye you may not see the diff,but its worth a try, and especialy if you dont want to be converting down all the time, its a good thing to stretch a phone to its limits to know what it can handle,although the N81 can do more than 1500kbps ,it played the video WAY too well and startd it quickly which is a great sign that this thing can handle more. Even when i get to drive a car eg a Audi S3,its good to take it to its limits OR ATLEAST try to,to know where to draw the line.

              Nope man. If u want to lock da files you have to downlolad special software. I have downloaded for my W810i a software that locks files but i don't remember what was the name of the software. I'll check it out... But in the W960i you can set the rights like "Read Only" and "Hidden".

              The guy below told that he used a Trial W960i which means that the phone was not a final product, like mine, and so it might had some issues.
              Also i compared my W960i screen only with the N73, W810 and some other Walkman phones and the N73 looks so so low quality and the pixels are visible!! And the W810i looks very low res to W960i and not clear! The W960i (at least mine) has amazing display quality! I mean it! I don't try to blame Nokias phones or somethin'! If theres a bad thing about W960i, i'll post it, like i done before.

              And about the mp4 format, the W960i can handle about 1200kbps (not 100% sure). I cannot see a difference between 800, 1000 or 1200kbps! Not even in my PC! When a video resolution is small, theres no point to set the bitrate to high levels, especialy when the files (source)default bitrate is low! (It is like trying to convert an mp3 from 128kbps to 320kbps. The quality is already lost and cannot be undone)The high bitrate does best job only in higher resolutions than 320x240. I put to my W960i a video file (Tom and Jerry...) with higher resolution than its screen, at 1200 kbps and it played just great at 30fps. But again i didn't see no difference in the video files with different resolution, because the W960i screen supports only 240x320 pixels and it "squeeze" the video so it can fit in its resolution!

              Offcourse it is cool that the N81 supports 1500kbps at higher resolutions than its screen, but in my opinion theres is no point to "push a phone to its limits" and suck the battery faster without a reason as there is no difference it the quality. That is only usefull when streaming video from the internet, that is bigger than 320x240. (the W960i can also stream videos).

                And did ya test tha media programmer cd?

                Can ya convert all typs of video in to mp4?
                Can change the megabyte ?( like 35 mb to 30 mb)
                How is the sound and the video quality (display) when ya did all of that?

                      I purchased a 5 megapixel Sony Ericsson K850i and returned it 2 days later. I now have the W960i and would never go back. Why sony didn't add EDGE is beyond me, however, that lacking, it's about the only thing missing. Awesome phone, and how is it the 3.2 megapixel takes sharper looking shots than the 5 megapixel K850i? I don't know how, but I swear on my life, IT DOES!!! If you're a text freak like me and don't want a change in menu style, stay away from the cool looking K850i and go for this W960i! Feel free to email me with questions on other opinions regarding differences between the two models.

                              Im aware of that, but what i wrote was NOT about format but about the bit rates IN a format,remember N81 is also Symbian and im FULLY AND TOTALY aware of it if you read my past posts. Unfortunetly from what Next Level told me the W960 can't hand 1500kbps Data Rate.

                                W960i is compatible with all Video Formats

                                since its a Symbian ! simply install a Application which allows the file format and YOU GOT THE VIDEO PLAYING!!

                                theres no limiation since its SYMBIAN

                                    The guy in the review is talking about WASHED OUT COLOUR, he put the W960 next to a K850 and put on the same Wallpaper and W960 display made the wallpaper look washed out/not sharp/pale. I saw something similar when W960 was put next to a E61i and N95-8GB and W960 colour was washd out, you must remember in general a Touchscreen usualy looses in quality when compared to a hardscreen of the same size and/or resolution its a known fact ( so please no1 argue) even the guys at Esato know this,and also again in general touchscreens are known not to be nicely visible in direct sunlight and most outdoor conditions. SE have tried to address all this on W960 but its stil not great. These are FACT! Ive had HTC TyTN, I-paqs, and testd the UIQ3 phones and many agree and see this. I think so far Apple with the i-Phone got it right from what ive seen.
