The W960i can play WMA

    Someone below was talking about "W960i screen washout"! First i want to say that the phone he used was a Trial and secondly that maybe does he mean that the screen was not much bright? Maybe he didn't change the default (from the manufacturer) screen brightness which is 65%?
    My W960i screen is briliant and bright!

    Maybe the guy that used that trial didn't know that there is a settings menu about the screen brightness in all phones?...

      The W960i cannot play avi.
      You'll need to install 3rd party software to do that.

                  5300 realy is a simple radio and music phone it doesn't come close to a W810, you would rather compare 5300 to a W300. 5610 fair enough, i haven't testd so il take your word for it.
                  We are going know where with this, each to his own, im going to be loading gba roms emulators etc. . . To my N81 now,im a huge fan of mobile multimedia devices with the Symbian OS AND FOR ME my N81 is the best and im still in 7months getting a N95-8GB or the rumourd N96 which ever is good for me and has what i want. I hate being at a PC or Laptop, im considering a UMPC like HTC Shift.
                  Like ive said, W960 is not bad,when i testd it i loved it and swore it would mark my return to SE but the more i then read in to it the more i thought about long term and what i want in a phone and the apps i want the more i got attractd to N81 and by Nokia's Ovi service with Ngage Arena (like Xbox Live) . And the more i feel SE could have done so much for you guys in W960 but i guess they saved all of that for the P5i. W960 is a phone i'd still recommend to whoever wants a great SE Walkman. Bare in mind UIQ3 still is missing a lot of great apps that are on S60 which is another reason why i like N81.

                    My friend got a trial SE W960 - the screen was very disappointing like what this website review says: "washout". I was really looking forward to the release of this phone - excellent specs with wifi, auto-focus cam, 8gb. Hope sony can do something about the screen. By the way, does anyone know if this phone plays wma format music tracks?

                      i got my info from a friend who works with SE. bad news is, SE would release the said unit by 1st week of january (in time for the release of nokia e51).
                      though some big bosses of SE already have this phone, they wont release it this year...they 're really making the market hungry...hehehe

                        Why are you even comparing W810i with N81???The former is an almost two years old set, N81 is the latest. Secondly W810i is a walkman set aimed at music only, I was just giving the example by comparing it to the two fo the latest sets also aimed at music by nokia which are 5310 and 5610 and I can guarantee you that this almost 2 years old set still produces better quality sound than the two latest nokias..thats the power of SE and that was the aim of W810i..music.
                        I don't know that N81 support flash themes or not, but you say it does, even if its true then this has been implemented only in N81 or maybe the latest sets, I have been using flash themes for over a year now.
                        When I go on a trip I store everything on my mobile before going, besides even with a bigger screen I never enjoy watching movies on a mobile, I only need music and for that W810i is the best.
                        And I ma sure that W960i will be a great step ahead and people who do watch movies on mobiles will be pleased with this beauty. Its simply the best for many of us right now, and the only set that I will buy after W810i.

                              By the way ive got a PC, but i travel a lot,especialy during the holidays and can't be carrying a PC around or Laptop where ever i go because thats just inconvinient. Actualy a lot of high quality movies on the net are in avi not mp4 oh and 3gp sucks. I can convert music ON MY PHONE using AudioCube so i don't always need a PC, I can view Documents, PDFs on my N81, i can SIMPLY edit ID-3 Tags of my music right on my phones Music Player. I can stream YouTube (REAL PC YOUTUBE) on my N81 using emTube app and if i like i download them etc. . . My videos are in H.264 and look great i hardly ever need my PC to do anything now cause i hardly have to convert videos or music etc. . . Thats what Multimedia phones ( N81 and W960) are made for,not lil W810, but each to their own i guess.

                                For Sure! Its much better than the default headphones! Even with the default headphones the sound is amazing and the BASS is BANGING!!! I cannot imagine how will the sound be with better phones....

                                        I havent claimed that Nokias are best at everything, the K850 has had the very same faults as N95 at release,so its not because of packd features. Remember the K800s Dying scenario last year? I remember DOZENS of Forums with over 500posts each on dying K800s with EROM failure, and some K850s are suffering the same SO DONT YOU EVEN DARE SAY SE ARE ALL STABLE! Further more REMEMBER THE 1ST UIQ3 TRIO? P990, W950 and M600 with BAD MEMORY LEAKS, ALOT OF REBOOTS and a badly implemented UIQ3 in them? DONT YOU EVER EVER EVER MAKE IT SOUND LIKE SE ARE PERFECT!! You even go and compare Java to Symbian ( Apples to Oranges) java will always be more stable than a phone with an OS, no doubt. W950 had a bad display in outdoor conditions. Are you aware of the fact that Nokia are using brand new crisp flat screen displays on 5700, N81, N76, and 6110-Nav? It looks better than N77 and N95 screen. Will be waiting for your reply on the UIQ3 phones with P990 included and how SE DROPPD THEIR P990, W950 and M600 customers by discontinuing FW support less than 1year after release.
