Awesome, I4U.com is saying that the phone is going to be released in Nov.
Sony Ericsson announces today that the W960 Walkman phone is shipping in November.
The W960 Walkman phone was announced in June.
The Sony Ericsson W960 features 8GB internal memory, a 2.6 inch touch screen, 3.2MP camera, runs Symbian OS, WiFi, Opera web browser, 9 hours GSM talktime and 3 hours 3G talktime. The measurements of the W960 are Size: 109 x 55 x 16mm and the weight is 119g.
"The W960 has been generating a lot of consumer excitement since the day it was announced," says Ben Padley, Head of Music Product Group at Sony Ericsson. "As the next installment in our hugely popular Walkman phone series, we are confident that this music mix of 3G phone, Walkman player and quality camera will prove to be a hit, and a great complement to the rest of the range."
The Sony Ericsson W960 Walkman® phone is UMTS 2100-GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 and will be available in Vinyl Black from November 2007.

I have a SE K300a (yup it's a classic) and I think it's about time to upgrade to something that's "a little" better. I will buy it as soon as it comes out I don't give a shoit when that will be. I like it a LOT.

Erm I've Had E-Mail Come Through. Now The Phone Is Available To Buy Sim Free From Play.com Who Are Usually Reliable And Says Release Is This Friday For Their Deal (£420).
Suprising Thing No Other Companies Have Said AAnything Back Or Anything To Do With A Contract Yet A Sim Free Version Seems To Be First To Be Released. I Presume Contract Version Will Still Be Due In December.

Seems the guy who has written the specs of this phone has done his job recklessly. Otherwise how come this phone has Opera 8.0 as browser? May be he thinks this device is a computer! Anyway, other specs look awful. No edge and 3G only with 386 kbps. What a joke.

Loved this phone very much but could wait anylonger got myself a loving P990I
Maybe they would learn to manufacture their phones much faster after its specs have been realeased cos i waited for Good 4 months and that was it i really needed a change from my w800 gadget.
big ups to those who can still wait i might just be worth the pain.

if u r goin to buy dis phone just dont
its a complete waste of money. litrelly.
#The looks aren't rich.
#It is way too back to nokia's tech gig (n81 8gb).
#It has a stylus which u tend to lose as
its too loose.

if the features are anything to go by then this phone sure knocks out the W950.
i simply cant understand why a phone with 4G in built memory doesnt have a camera.
i cant wait to have this phone.

The SE website says release in Q4 2007 thus it could be October, Novemer or December.

SE (South Africa) emailed me and said it will be availabe on November 12, 2007. Amazon.co.uk allows you to pre-order the W960i and indicates availability on November 12, 2007.

I have had a good play with the K850 and it seems to have some software issues when using the camera and playback function such as screen going off, others are failure to charge up, failure to turn on at all after crashing despite battery being swapped and a few other crashing points which repeat with certain key strokes. Does anyone know of any issues with this model from sample versions anyone has tried out for instance? Just curious as really like the feature set. Thanks
