no one answered my question but sonyeircsson service call center ,they r awsome they told me to update and it worked perfectly
in case u still wondering yes i still have the FM transmeter

Guys,.... I love this phone so much.. the quality of sound is excellent.... picture and video.. excellent too. the only thing need this mobile is wifi connection.. but the rest is absolutely excellent. I've been using this mobile since 2008 and I never think to replace it.
those who have problem with this mobile, to what I think is.. they dont know how to use it properly...

it gets hot a lot. playing with the phone makes it hot, especially if i connect it to the computer it gets hot like REAL HOT.. is that ok?
and the battery drops quite fast..
i dont know if it's just me or no.
need opinion here, thx :)

i have it...
it's so handsome and makes u different from others...
but the media center not worked good. it's to slowly...
also the accelerometer only works on media center...
and FM Transmitter doesn't work in IRAN...
but other advantages is so great and useful... especially playing music...

it a nice mobile...it never hngs ....so easy to operate..but if flash is possible in its camera then it will b great..

Hello:
I recently bought a W980-(like six days ago)-& I love the cell but it has some problems
so it would be great if I can get help through them by you:
1st : the phone does some sort of restart while i'm listening to music
is that normal?
2cd : every time I change the screensaver I have to turn the phone
off & on so it applies ,that didn't happen at all with my old k800i.WHY?
3rd : It kinda freezes if I go fast through the media ,is that normal?
Some friends said that I should update the software and i tried but the
update service software told that I already have the latest version.
I'm waiting for your replay please help me.

jer, 20 Aug 2009is it possible to flip the phone with one hand?o yes it is possible to open/flip the phone wid one hand, depends if u know how to do it.. first time user be careful but yes practice makes a man perfect.. but its easy though..

Bu... moreo yes its absolutely fine wen ur phone starts charging once connected to computer and hence this phone is worth paying attention to and its truely beautiful and amazing phone to have.. mine will be there wid me in a couple of dayz... just cant wait to have one..

i dont get with the phone keep restarting.. i just bought this phone 2 weeks ago. till now its fine. i hope the restarting thing wont bother that much.. (so when it restars by itself, what happen about the files inside?)
for me the not good part from this phone are:
- a bit lag? yeah.
- froze like 2 times
- camera location is weird (but i dont really use camera phone so im fine
- have to be extra careful with the external front screen
- gets hot easily when you connect it to computer or playing internet with the phone without even connect it..
anyway, is the battery this suck? i mean, it drops quite easy esp if you keep playing with the walkman n internet.. (i have to bring the charger everywhere, just in case)
other than that, this w980 is awesome..

bought this phone back in May of this year. haven't had much problems with it, except when i first got it, the phone either restarted by itself (almost everyday) or it froze. it was probably because of the software. got another software for it, and it's been fine since then.
here is my take on this phone...
PRO:
-great music sound (both using earphones and external speakers)
-orange light goes on-beat with the music you have
-clear reception/voice
-FM transmitter (works pretty good, although you'll most likely get some sort of static)
-8GB internal memory (yeah, plenty of space)
-slider lock on side of phone (so you don't randomly press the buttons at the front)
-auto-dimming internal screen
-auto-rotating screen (pictures, music)
-not too bulky in size and weight
-you can organize your text messages into different folders/categories
CON:
-battery life (the worst was charging every other day. depends how much you use your phone)
-easy to scratch external screen & fingerprints
-camera location is weird (your finger might get in the way of your pictures)
-can't change the light colour (music = orange, incoming call = white/blue. kinda looks like LED)
-no memory card slot (inconvenient if you had everything saved in your other phone's M2)
nonetheless, i love this phone!

The only problems I have encountered are that, it restarts on its own every now and then (around once per week), it lags a little (just like most other sony phones), and the front can be easily damaged.
