Shud i get this fone or a p1. remember they're both sony ericsson phones so b honest pls. Also wat are tha common probs with this fone?

I bought this phone two weeks back.
And its pretty impressive.User Friendly features are excellent. 8GB is more than enough sure beats the iPhone in looks and price,and features except for internet surfing..
Few problems could be
- The cover surface though a fingerprint nightmare is even 'not scratch proof' so the slightest scratch can be noticable on close observation..
And the operating system is a lil bit slow than usual sony phones.. probably a microsecond slow but I could feel the difference between my old 580 and this in speed.
I just hope Sony makes sexy phones like these in the future or inthe coming year perhaps..when i shall buy a new phone..

You can prohibit them to not see your personal files. If they can't do what you said, don't lend your phone!
You would like to lock your files? Hmmm.. I had read there is an application, named Ultimate SMS (it is compatible for Nokia phones that use Symbian OS only). It can protect messages by password. Many applications like Ultimate SMS and most of them are Symbian OS support only. So, I advice you to find an application that compatible with Java MIDP 2.0 that can protect your files in internet. Hope this will help.

In Sony Ericsson Z310i, if you would like to open the flip, but you don't want it answer automatically when someone calls you, go to Settings>Calls>Open to answer, choose Off. So, I think W980 can do that too, but I don't know whether it has that option like in Z310i or not.

Mark Douglas, 13 Aug 2009on the right side of the phone... there is a key to unlock... morehi Mark,tnx for ur answer,but i meant on the buttons inside when u open the phone,not the touch keys outside,i knew that,but i hate that anyone who open my phone can see whatever he wants,so thats why i ask about maybe some trick that i dont know to lock inside buttons.That is what i need.And that right key dont work for those buttons.I was searching to lock folders from pics and msgs but unsucessful:(

hi all,when someone calls me can i open the phone without answering that call?coz from outside buttons i cant ignore calls(as busy allert to others) only turn off the ringing,and when i open it automatically answer on someones call.Pls for answer,tnx.

I just bought the phone but the FM transmitter does'nt work. :( it says that it was due to regional legal constraints. Does anyone have any idea on how to overcome this problem?

Yes it is 8 gig internal memory and believe you me the phone is good
