In my opinion, Sony Ericsson W980 is good. I've seen and touch its dummy. The design is good too. Big internal memory, good features, large colorful external screen like Motorola RAZR, HSDPA support, its keypad made in plastic (seems good). In my country its price is about US$ 279 now.

Connect the phone via USB to the computer, make it a modem for browsing internet for example, will reduce its battery life so fast. So, if you said your phone starts charging when you connect it to the computer, it means your don't need worry if the battery life empty, because your phone is charged while you do something, for example browsing internet.
But, if you don't like this function and you want stop it. Press: right, *, left, left, *, left, * (in the standby display/homescreen). This code is available for all Sony Ericsson phones. If correct, it will appear new submenus. Find USB Charging (On/Off) in it.

I'm actually interested in purchasing this phone. So I just wanted to know if there are any common problems that some of you might ran into with this phone? e.g. battery, display or whatever it may be. Can someone plz let me know asap

Does anybody know if it's possible to turn off the lights at the lowest part on the front panel of Sony Ericsson W980 (the transparent stripe? Everybody seems to love that feature, but I think it spoils the very elegant look this phone has.I find that feature useless giving the phone a cheap appearance that can be only appealing to children and teens.

I've recently bought w980 and it's really a great phone. But when I connect the phone to computer it starts charging. Is it normal? If not, how can I stop this function?

Tikboi, 03 Aug 2009Can it play full songs when you set it on message alert tone?Yeah. It'll play from the beginning till your phone stops ringing and it sends the caller to voice mail. You can't choose where to start the song at though.

just want to say that you should by this phone! its fantastic! sound is good the battery life is long. and its perfect for music lover like me! and the phone memory is huge that's why you can store hundreds of music...

ive neva used a Sony Fone... so dunno how it is???
ive been using my Nokia 6233 for the Past 2 & a Half years... n m really attached to it... so i cant rely on any other fone... So plz do help. I BASICALLY want a music Fone wit A Desent Camera!!... atleast better dan my 6233... PLZ DO HELP!!!!!!

absoloutely brilliant phone! sound is perfect and design is immaculate!
got it at a great price too, (currently £99 in carphone warehouse)
would definately recommend!
