I bought this phone 2 weeks ago. Its performance did not let me down. It does not lag also. The walkman-on-top is perfect, with no lag while playing tracks. There is vibration on those touch buttons when pressed,making tracks-choosing easy and effortless. The music quality is good, and with headphones on, the music is clear and nice.
However, rock musics are not as nice when listenned on headphones, which is quite disappointing. The headphones must also be connected to an adaptor which i find it troublesome and unglem.
Next, the camera is fast, does not take pictures too slowly. However the pictures are generally big in size if taken in 3MP. There is also no flash no autofocus. But i am still happy with the picture quality.
The other features like 8Gb of memory is wonderful, allowing me to put in many games and music as i like, without worrying for the space. Its abundant space is good. The colour display is great too. The light that flashes along with the music is also cool and wonderful. The loudness of the phone is good enough, the battery is also acceptable, its not bad.
Overall, i would give the phone 8/10. :)
Score loss at the camera and some small errors that will occur which require the phone to be switched off n on again to recover.

I have this phone and there is a problem with SIM card slot. It is hard to pull out the sim card. Is it normal?

yeah i ahev had the same problem!!!i totally luv sony's and really really dig the w760i....i have been asking all mtn outlets in cape town if they have it but nun of them even no wen they getting stock or theysed they ordered it but dnt no wen its cumin...bull!!!! i have been getting that answer for a whole mnth already....how unbelievable man...i mean, couldnt sony be a better dealer...or mtn a better service provider....hw cum dnt they no...atlaest they culd have sed maybe they getting it soon or some other line better than i dnt no...and better clarification between customer and sales rep cos they seem a bit unsure wen faced with a question like that, u making ur staff seem uninformed..mtn....ya nw i have to settle fro a c902...which i hope is nt bad....i really really wanted the w760i

Any user would kindly give more feedback about this phone? I would like to have 1, but I'm worry about the performance and feature of it.
Is the camera clear?

heyy everyone...i love this fone...only 2 problems. can any1 plz help me out:
1. how do u phone lock to secure no1 else uses ur fone to chk msgs etc with a code?
2. How do u give missed calls...usually i have to put it on my ear to do that...because wen i press call...the "speaker on" option comes immediately before the call goes....so is there a way to givin missed calls w/o puttin the fone on the ear??Please HELP!

I really don't understand with my phone, it often restarts itself while i'm listening to music, very disturbing for me. Is it my phone that only got this problem?

D, 07 Dec 2008Hey hi ya'll again. I just bought W980 this saturday. its a... moreonce ur connected to internet and if u want to exit from it, this is wht u should do. select options, and then select exit browser. thats it. u dont have to select the keypad (end call). hope this wil help u.

i suppose there is no real way to decide whether to get this phone or not on the comments because there are so many mixed reviews which mostly contradict eachother. I will just have to make a decision for myself. :)

i heard many feedback from other ppl, saying that W980 loudspeaker quality is bad,worse than some walkman phone, and even the ringtone quality is worse than the music quality when using walkman 3.0. But the earphone quality is great! Izit the loudspeaker quality that bad? Omg, any way to solve this prob?
