hi , i have this phone a week and i never had problems with sony ericsson before can some one tell me how long the battery life is on theres because mine is only lasting about 12hrs or less, i know i use the facebook and msn but surly it should last a bit longer that that , please can someone get back to me ?

I have this phone and I am deeply in love with it. I have manually set the equalizer and the sound is just out of the world.

w995 mclovin, 19 Oct 2009If you want a phone to replace everything, I'm pretty sure ... moreThanx so much Mclovin... the reason im being so careful b4 making a decision of whether to go for either the W995 or the Nokia N86 is that the last phone i got was the HTC TyTn II (aka the HTC Kaiser) read the review of that phone and heard rave reviews about windows mobile...but i was extremely disappointed...not only with the consistent crashing but also with the abysmal battery life amongst other problems.
I used to be a Nokia fan-boy but i dont mind a change ...but i wanna make sure i dont mes up again. Honestly if the W995 had the Symbian 60 OS (without the crashing n bugs) n all its features i'd go for that hands down..oh well..guess we cant always get wot we want..
but lookin to hear more from the phone's users about the advantages and the disadvantags of this phone (and the Nokia N86 before i buy one of the 2)

some people are confused to choose between w995 and aino
if you dont care about semi touch screen and about playstation 3 compatibility then go for w995 which is cheaper now

I am not a liar you are lucky with you... moreloll I actually meant all those posters claiming to have over two continuously fail sliders, come on, how likely is that. Whoever you're returning to probably just twisted some screws and handed it right back to you.
Besides, there's only a few people with comments on bad sliders, think of the hundreds or thousands of other consumers who don't post because they're completely fine with their sliders. I'm pretty sure I wasn't just lucky.

but what kind o... moreIf you want a phone to replace everything, I'm pretty sure Nokia N86 would be a better bet. The camera along with its wide angle lens is definitely better. The camera on the w995 I have to say is pretty good, but you have to keep your hand completely still, image stabilization is pretty bad on it. Plus, it's based on a smartphone platform, so you can't go wrong with it. The only thing that the w995 has over the n86 would probably be the music player, and the n86 is still able to do that decently.
Basically, if you need a phone as a replacement for the electronics you use now, you'd most likely want a Nokia. I got the w995 pretty much for style and customization, I was getting tired of the staleness of the S60 interface.

but what kind of features are u talking about. i need a phone to replace my digi-cam and ipod, also to use the internet on the go (wifi & gprs)

**CAMERA QUALITY ..since both are 8MP( which has sharper images...do d N86 and W995 both support sumthin like 'Best Pic/ Burst mode'and how good is the flash. Is there a vast difference between the two cameras (considering the Sony Ericsson W995 is from the Walkman stable)
**RUGGED** how delicate or how rugged the phones are
** Texting ** How easy is it to text on the phone
** BATTERY LIFE ** Are they as good as they claim ?
** APPLICATIONS ** are there applications and tweaks available for the W995 as there are for the N86 ?
** Memory problems** does the phone lag or slow down or crash often ...Also what is the startup time like ?

Also...the C905 which was my initial choice seemd to have a lot of problems with build quality as per the feedback i read on this forum...does the W995 suffer from the same ??

To all U audiophiles out there... tomorrow i'm gonna get a new pair of earbuds.. i'm getting tired listening to my Sony MDR-ED12 so planning on getting a philips shh9700 or she9550.. Which one woulde be the better of the two? she9550 shows almost the same spec but costs 400rs less... should I go for shh9700 or the cheaper she9550?

What is the "G" stands for on the upper part of signal indicator, and sometimes it shows "E"? thanks!

Mines 3 mos old. And no problem in the slider. About the stickers and Walkman logo. I put transparent tapes on it. SO no problem with that. I say its a great buy. You will never get bored with it. It has many talents under its sleeve.
