Thanks for replies about dimming screen. it isnt when choosing the word as i know it does grey out then it just seems to dim overall when typing. your light sensor explanation does make sense and i have reduced the overall brightness as suggested.

Here are some suggestions/tips that you have to take into consideration to save battery life:
1. Don't use 3g when it's not needed;
2. 50% is enough for brightness. No need to use 100%.
3. Animated wallpaper also decreases battery life. Non-animated wallpaper is highly recommended; and
4. NEVER drain your battery. There's no use of draining it for this only affects the battery life.

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2009can i get free mobile dictionary software for this phone an... moreyou may download free dictionary, w/o using the net, at www.mobiletoones.com. It's an SE software, so i think it'll work w/ your w995. Mine is g705 and the dictionary is working w/ it.

I found out the battery of this hp is not lasting... it ned to recharge after 1 day even though i didnt use for playing music and games. I just make a few call den the battery is less then 50%... wat goin on this hp... i hv use this hp for 3 mth and now i stil using it

I'm a music lover, and I have iPod nano 8GB (4G). It has good sound quality but it needs PC for charging, moreover it doesn't work without iTunes>>>>annoying

In dark places, it will be brighter and vice versa. Sometimes when you text, the phone will move which causes different levels of light in its surroundings.

love the phone but there is one thing that bothers me, the screen is bright then dims as i am writing texts then goes bright again.I dont mean when it goes grey whilst selecting the word just in between typing words. Does anyone know whether this can be changed. Ive got it on 100% brightness and cannot see any option to change this otherwise the slider does feel loose but love the phone overall
